Sky has dropped the first trailer for Tom Hollander’s new thriller series The Iris Affair.
The forthcoming series, created by Neil Cross (who also oversees Luther), pairs John Hannah’s character with Niamh Algar’s, portraying them as two intellectually formidable individuals engaged in a dangerous cat-and-mouse chase throughout Italy.
When puzzle prodigy Iris Nixon (Algar) solves a series of intricate internet riddles, it leads her to a piazza in Florence. There she encounters captivating entrepreneur Cameron Beck (Hollander).

He asks her to join him in uncovering a highly potent, classified technology, peaking her interest. She agrees. However, upon realizing its hazardous capabilities, she secretly takes a journal that holds the device’s activation code and then disappears.
Here’s what unfolds is an unyielding chase, starting at a secluded cabin on the beautiful island of Sardinia and continuing through the crowded cityscape of Rome. In this intense situation, Cameron is hot on the trail of Iris, immersed in a perilous game where trust is precarious, and a single mistake could lead to disastrous consequences.

The initial trailer for the eight-episode Sky Original series, labeled as a “bright, high-stakes chase thriller,” has been unveiled, hinting at an upcoming stylish and suspenseful TV production.
According to the latest trailer, it’s shown that Iris and Cameron first reunite in Italy prior to the action unfolding. In a voiceover, Iris remarks, “What they’re doing here is beyond risky.
While footage of Iris darting through Italy unfolds, Cameron, portrayed by Hollander, comments: “You’re as close to the devil as it gets.

In the discussion about the series, Cross declared in his statement: “My aim was simply to create a show that I myself would enjoy watching. ‘Iris’ is an unabashedly thrilling, clever, action-packed drama, and its lead character is unlike anyone we’ve seen on television before.
Completing our ensemble for the upcoming series are actors such as Kristofer Hivju, Harry Lloyd, Meréana Tomlinson, Sacha Dhawan, Maya Sansa, Peter Sullivan, Debi Mazar, Marco Leonardi, Angela Bruce, and Lorenzo De Moor.
This fall, you’ll be able to stream “The Iris Affair” on both Sky and NOW, but the specific release date remains unknown at the moment.
The Iris Affair will come to Sky and NOW later this year in the UK and Ireland.
