Tom Holland says the Spider-Man 4 script “needs work”
As a gamer who grew up with the Spider-Man comics and movies, the news about Spider-Man 4 has sent my adrenaline soaring! I still remember the excitement when Tobey Maguire first swung into our hearts, and then again with Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland. Now, with Destin Daniel Cretton at the helm and a script in development, it feels like we’re on the verge of another epic chapter in Spidey’s saga.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is preparing for the second part of its Multiverse Storyline. This storyline began with 18 films in the fourth phase, which means we’re likely more than halfway through from that perspective. However, Marvel Studios has reduced the number of releases as they approach the two Avengers movies that will conclude this specific chapter of the series.

He disclosed that he had read it just three weeks prior and expressed that it sparked a great deal of enthusiasm within him.
We have a creative and a pitch and a draft, which is excellent. It needs work, but the writers are doing a great job… I read it three weeks ago, and it really lit a fire in me. Zendaya and I sat down and read it together, and we at times were bouncing around the living room, like this is a real movie worthy of fans’ respect.
It’s no wonder the script for Spider-Man 4 isn’t finalized yet since it’s in its initial stages, but the enthusiasm Holland and Zendaya show towards the movie is definitely promising. Given their involvement in all three movies of the Spider-Man: Homecoming series – which were all warmly appreciated by both audiences and critics – it’s safe to assume they have a good understanding of what fans would appreciate.
This movie has been central to many conversations among Marvel Cinematic Universe fans due to the groundbreaking impact of its predecessor, “Spider-Man: No Way Home” from 2021. The film brought together Tom Holland’s Spider-Man with both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s versions, creating one of the most memorable cinematic experiences in this century. It concluded Jon Watts’ trilogy in a powerful way yet left room for future stories to unfold.
Initially, Sony acknowledged aspirations for a fresh Spider-Man trilogy, promising an innovative direction for the character. However, speculations about a grounded adventure have been contradicted by numerous recent whispers, indicating that the movie will likely delve into another multiverse narrative instead.
Regardless if Sony and Marvel choose a multiverse or earthbound approach for the plot of Spider-Man 4, anticipation for this film remains high. It’s quickly becoming one of the most eagerly awaited movies upcoming, and it seems unlikely that this trend will shift anytime soon.
2016 marked Tom Holland’s first appearance as Spider-Man in “Captain America: Civil War.” Following this, he starred in standalone films titled “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” and the upcoming “Spider-Man: No Way Home.” He also reappeared in “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame.” With excitement building, fans eagerly anticipate watching MCU’s Peter Parker once more.
