Tom Holland has his lips sealed about ‘speculation’ that he could be the next James Bond

Discussions have included his name alongside other well-known celebrities, suggesting he could be the next contender for the role in the James Bond series.

In a video shared on Thursday, Tom Holland declined to provide any clues regarding the rumors when asked directly about them.

There’s been a significant increase in speculation that Holland might be considered to succeed Daniel Craig as the renowned British secret agent, given that Denis Villeneuve has agreed to direct the upcoming installment in the famous franchise.

A screenwriter for the highly anticipated film was also announced on Friday.

During his collaboration with Chef Gordon Ramsay on YouTube to prepare fried chicken sandwiches and endorse his non-alcoholic beer brand, Holland addressed the ongoing rumors or gossip surrounding him.

He mentioned that there’s currently some uncertainty, but he plans to keep discussions limited for the moment, giving a modest smile. Eventually, we’ll reach our goal, he assured.

In Holland’s words, “Being a young British actor is the peak of my profession’s realm,” he added. “I feel incredibly fortunate; I wouldn’t have dared to imagine having the career I’ve built.

It’s becoming clearer that the upcoming Bond movie is taking shape, following the news on Friday that Steven Knight, known for creating Peaky Blinders, will team up with Villeneuve as the screenwriter for the next James Bond film.

During an interview with BBC Radio 5 Live Breakfast, Knight expressed that it had long been a desire of his to participate in this event, and he was thrilled to have received the invitation. He eagerly anticipates getting started.

The movie is now under the supervision of Amazon MGM Studios, as producer Barbara Broccoli has relinquished her creative authority over the James Bond series.

In addition, it has been confirmed that Amy Pascal and David Heyman will serve as the film’s producers through their respective production companies – Pascal Pictures and Heyday Films. Meanwhile, Tanya Lapointe assumes the role of executive producer for this project.

Despite the creative team for the upcoming Bond movie coming together nicely, it remains unclear as to who will take over from Craig, or which potential candidates are under consideration.

Craig’s final Bond film was 2021’s dark No Time To Die, which was directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga.

It’s said that the producers might be searching for an actor noticeably younger than Craig (who is currently 57) to play the part, as he portrayed a more seasoned, contemplative version of the cherished character that emphasizes aging and mortality.

At present, Tom Holland is shooting his fourth standalone Spider-Man movie titled “Brand New Day.” This film brings him back together on set with his co-star and girlfriend, Zendaya.

On Friday, production started in Glasgow, Scotland, where parts of the city were transformed into a replica of New York City.

Based on reports from The Sun, it was initially planned for Liverpool to replace New York (the Big Apple) as the venue. However, this plan was altered following a devastating parade accident that resulted in 109 injuries.

Earlier in July, Tom was seen in Scotland while filming parts for director Christopher Nolan’s version of The Odyssey. It is said that both he and Zendaya have returned to the same location to initiate the shoot for the Spider-Man sequel.
