Tom Holland confirms additional Spider-Man: Brand New Day filming that they “don’t need”

Tom Holland has shared that they’re filming additional scenes for Spider-Man: Brand New Day in London. He wants to make it clear, though, that these aren’t last-minute fixes to save the movie, but rather standard reshoots.

In a recent interview with GQ, the actor said he’s having fun filming new scenes for the superhero movie, even though he feels the extra footage isn’t essential. He explained, “Honestly, we’re shooting things we don’t really need.”

The movie is already good, but we’re enhancing it with some final touches. We’re adding more humor and developing a new, exciting villain storyline to make it even better.

The trailer suggests this movie will feature a lot of villains, including the Scorpion, Boomerang, Tarantula, Tombstone, and a group of ninja warriors known as The Hand.

Spider-Man is teaming up with some other heroes, including Frank Castle, also known as the Punisher, and Bruce Banner, who transforms into the Hulk. Jon Bernthal and Mark Ruffalo reprise their roles as these characters.

The new trailer has me seriously worried about Peter – it looks like he might transform into something really dangerous! And everyone online thinks we’re going to see some X-Men characters show up, like Jean Grey and Rogue, which would be amazing if true.

Sadie Sink, known for her role in Stranger Things, has been rumored to play the character Jean. Last year, she spoke about the speculation, saying she first heard about it before she was officially involved in the project. She was surprised and wondered what people were referring to.

She acknowledged that people often overlook the fact that hair color isn’t permanent, but said she understands the speculation. She encouraged people to wait and see how things unfold, adding that she’s looking forward to resolving the mystery.

Besides the previously announced actors, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tramell Tillman, and Michael Mando will also star in the upcoming film. Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers wrote the script, and Destin Daniel Cretton directed the movie.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released in cinemas on 31 July.
