Tom Hiddleston’s Loki Unveiled: God of Stories’ New Look in Avengers: Doomsday

In the second season of “Loki,” played by Tom Hiddleston, we last saw Loki. However, Marvel Studios recently unveiled a new appearance for the Tale Weaver in preparation for the happenings of “Avengers: Doomsday.

It has previously been announced that Tom Hiddleston is part of the cast for “Avengers: Doomsday.” With the conclusion of “Loki” Season 2, there was much curiosity about the extent of Hiddleston’s involvement in the movie.

Luckily, it seems clear from hints given by those in-the-know at Marvel that the God of Stories will play a crucial role in the core narrative. In other words, the storyline appears to depend on his involvement for it to progress effectively.

Marvel Studios Releases New Look of Loki

In 2024, when Loki Season 2 premieres on Disney+, Marvel Studios intends to follow it up with a publication of an artbook showcasing its visual aspects.

The book, entitled “Marvel Studios’ Loki Season 2: The Art of the Show“, is scheduled for a public release on July 29, 2025.

According to Artbook Collector, the cover showcases a revamped perspective of Tom Hiddleston’s Loki character as The Storyteller Deity. This incarnation of the character was unveiled at the conclusion of “Loki” Season 2.

From my perspective, the captivating cover image features none other than Loki himself, donning his instantly recognizable green attire adorned with regal, full-length horns sprouting from a majestic crown.

This newly released image offers fans their first glimpse of Loki since the conclusion of the second season on Disney+. With Tom Hiddleston’s character set to make another appearance in Avengers: Doomsday on May 1, 2026, this sneak peek provides viewers with a brand new (and possibly the only) view of him before his comeback. The upcoming film will also bring about a reunion between Loki and Thor.

As a dedicated cinephile, it’s important to acknowledge that the captivating cover art we see was masterfully created by Jackson Sze, an accomplished artist who has contributed his talents to Marvel Studios’ visual development team since the initial phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

What Will Loki’s Role Be in Avengers: Doomsday?

It’s been hinted that Loki will have a significant part in “Avengers: Doomsday.” The end of “Loki” Season 2 demonstrated the character gaining immense power, and given his strong connection to the Multiverse, which is central to “Doomsday,” we can expect Loki to be deeply engaged.

According to industry expert Alex Perez, Loki may serve as the main catalyst or driving force behind the events in the film “Doomsday,” a term similar to “Macguffin” used to describe an object, character, or situation that propels the plot along.

He also teased that a race to get to Loki will be featured at some point throughout the movie:

“He’ll be our McGuffin. The race against Doomsday will be a race to see who gets to Loki first.”

As a movie enthusiast, I can’t help but ponder about how much Loki, played by the talented Tom Hiddleston, will be featured in the trailers and promotional materials for the upcoming blockbuster, Doomsday. Given that he is confirmed to star in the film, it seems plausible that Marvel Studios would be eager to give fans a sneak peek of Loki before the movie hits theaters.

If Loki truly carries the significance he’s rumored to have in the film, it’s quite possible that we might catch a glimpse of him, however fleeting, in the trailers.
