Tom Hiddleston recently discussed the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie and what fans can anticipate. His character, Loki, was initially killed by Thanos in 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War. However, a different version of Loki appeared in Endgame a year later and ultimately starred in the popular Disney+ series Loki, which ran for two seasons.
I’m so excited to see Loki’s evolution! He’s really come into his own, becoming a central figure in the Multiverse Saga and essentially its new guardian. He started by figuring out the whole deal with Kang and his different versions, and now he’s become the one responsible for protecting all of reality – basically the MCU’s God of Stories! The cast announcement for Avengers: Doomsday just confirmed what we all hoped: Loki’s coming back!
Tom Hiddleston recently discussed the plot of Avengers: Doomsday in an interview with British GQ. He confirmed he’s finished filming his scenes as Loki for the movie and shared his thoughts on the script, calling the core story “absolutely brilliant.” Hiddleston also hinted that Avengers: Doomsday features a completely new and unexpected element.

As a huge Marvel fan, I’m still trying to figure out what Loki’s going to be up to in the next Avengers movie! It’s a little strange, but he wasn’t in either of the initial trailers shown before screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash. The first trailer was all about Chris Evans coming back as Captain America, and the second one really highlighted Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and his daughter, Love. It makes me wonder what they’re hiding with Loki’s story!
Since Thor received his own preview, he’s likely to have a significant part in Avengers: Doomsday. This increases the possibility that Loki will also be a key player in the movie. Thor was shown asking Odin for help against a new threat, and Loki, as the protector of the multiverse, could be the one to protect his brother.
Interestingly, despite their conflict, these two characters appear to be on the same side in the movie. A recent Disney event in Italy gave us a first look at Captain America’s new Avengers team, which includes heroes like Sam Wilson, Thor, Loki, Shang-Chi, Falcon, and Ant-Man. Tom Hiddleston hasn’t confirmed if he’ll be joining them yet.
Two more teasers for Avengers: Doomsday are still coming to theaters. This means we might get a sneak peek at Loki in the new movie before the full trailer arrives in 2026. If not, the full Avengers: Doomsday trailer, featuring Loki, could debut at the Super Bowl on February 8th or at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2026.
