Tom Hiddleston looked sharp in a grey suit at the premiere of the second series of ‘The Night Manager‘ in New York City on Wednesday.
The 44-year-old British actor looked sharp in a light, patterned double-breasted blazer and matching pants, completed with a coordinating scarf and a white shirt.
Tom seemed cheerful as he arrived on the red carpet, where he met up with his co-star Diego Calva, who looked sharp in a black suit.
I was so thrilled to see The Night Manager back on BBC One after all these years! It’s been nearly a decade since we last followed Jonathan Pine, Tom’s character—a former spy with a really complicated past. It was great to revisit his story.
The second episode of the show’s popular second season was released on Sunday, and viewers immediately went to X (formerly Twitter) to share their thoughts. Many compared the storyline to the James Bond film Licence to Kill and joked that it felt like a screen test for the next 007.
Although Daniel Craig has stepped down as James Bond, his replacement hasn’t been revealed yet. Many fans think Tom is the ideal choice for the role.

People on X commented that the second episode of ‘The Night Manager’ was very good, reminding them of John le Carré’s style but also feeling similar to the plot of the James Bond film ‘Licence to Kill’. Many noted this highlighted just how excellent and forward-thinking ‘Licence to Kill’ was.
I said it before, and I still believe it: Tom Hiddleston’s performance in The Night Manager was essentially an audition for the role of James Bond, and he nailed it.
‘So 2 episodes in and the #nightmanager is still basically Licence to Kill’;
It’s great to see The Night Manager return after nearly a decade. I still believe Tom Hiddleston would be a fantastic James Bond, and this series really showcases why.
‘watching the night manager is still my favourite thing to watch on Sundays’;
Released in 1989, Licence To Kill is the sixteenth film in the James Bond series. It centers on James Bond, a British MI6 agent, and his ally, CIA agent Felix Leiter, as they team up to bring down a dangerous drug lord named Franz Sanchez.
The second episode moved the action to Colombia, where Jonathan Pine, played by Tom, started working undercover to expose a new arms dealing network. We also met Roxana Bolaños, played by Camila Morrone, who became his new romantic interest.
Pine adopted the alias (or Matthew Goodwin), posing as the hard-drinking son of a merchant banker.

He aimed to get close to Teddy Dos Santos (Diego Calva), a Colombian businessman and follower of the late Richard Roper, in order to discover what was hidden inside a suspicious delivery in Cartagena.
Dos Santos tested Pine’s loyalty by forcing him to consume cocaine and spiked champagne.
The agent almost drowned while in a pool, but even while struggling, he convincingly told his story: he’d stolen millions from his old company and needed Dos Santos to help hide the money.
The agent will find themselves caught up in another dangerous scheme – this time involving weapons and the training of a rebel army.
Fast-paced events will cause friendships to break down as Jonathan desperately tries to reveal a plot to ruin a country.
The story promises constant betrayals, forcing the MI6 agent to question everyone around him and push his limits before time runs out.
Season two features Olivia Colman, as well as Camila Morrone, nominated for an Emmy for her work in ‘Daisy Jones & The Six’, playing Roxana, and Indira Varma (known from ‘Obsession’ and ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’) as Mayra.
Paul Chahidi, known for his roles in “Wicked Little Letters” and “The Serpent Queen,” will play the character of Basil, while Hayley Squires, who starred in “Adult Material” and “Beau Is Afraid,” will play Sally.
The returning cast includes Alistair Petrie, known for his roles in Sex Education and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, as Sandy Langbourne, Douglas Hodge (Joker, Black Mirror) as Rex Mayhew, Michael Nardone (Traces, Rome) as Frisky, and Noah Jupe (A Quiet Place, Honey Boy) as Daniel Roper.
