Tom Hardy reveals how close we got to a Venom and Spider-Man crossover movie

Tom Hardy has revealed that a Venom and Spider-Man crossover “got close” to happening.

In the post-credits scenes of both “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” (2021) and “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, Eddie Brock/Venom, portrayed by Hardy, made appearances from the Sony Universe into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This setup hints at a possible encounter between Eddie Brock’s Venom and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in future movies.

Although they ultimately got sent back to their own world, viewers were speculating that these events could potentially pave the way for a collaboration in either “Venom: The Final Act” or the forthcoming “Spider-Man 4”.

Yet, Tom Hardy was absent from “Venom 3” and, at present, it seems that he won’t be part of the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe “Spider-Man” film.

During a recent conversation on “The Discourse Podcast” by The Playlist, Hardy was inquired about any past efforts for a cross-over and whether studio issues might have thwarted such an event.

Regarding his eagerness for a collaboration, the actor explained further: “Primarily, I’m motivated by the children. In other words, it’s for their sake that I’d consider it.

Adults may adore superhero movies, evident by the high box office earnings when they’re successful. However, I’m often reminded of the significance of these characters through children. They don’t understand why their favorite characters haven’t been brought together in films yet.

As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled about the confirmation of Venom 3, marking the conclusion of this captivating series. However, Tom Hardy himself hinted that this might not be the last we see of him embodying the enigmatic character, keeping hope alive for potential future appearances!

Last year, I shared my heartfelt affection for Eddie and Venom, expressing a deep fondness for both of them. Any opportunity to game with these characters is one I’d jump at, as they tap into a unique part of me that yearns to control their actions, regardless of where or how they appear in a game.
