Tom Grennan undergoes painful neck tattoo removal after singer showed off his crazy ‘Christmas number 1’ inking amid hopes to beat WHAM! to the top of the UK singles chart

Meanwhile, Tom Grennan displayed his unconventional “Christmas number 1” tattoo, optimistic about dethroning WHAM! from the holiday chart’s top position. However, the artist has decided to erase another of his tattoos in the process.

Currently, the star is undergoing a painful procedure to have the tattoo resembling a backward question mark on his Adam’s apple erased.

2022 photos show that Tom had a tattoo on his neck at the time, but in more current images, it appears he no longer does.

A source told The Sun: ‘He didn’t like it any more.’

Despite undergoing tattoo removal, he continues to add new ink to his body, particularly for the holiday-themed song “It Can’t Be Christmas,” which is part of Amazon’s newest advertisement campaign.

On Sunday, the singer publicly demonstrated his faith in his latest success by getting a tattoo commemorating it on his right leg, which he shared on his Instagram account.

The performer then begged his fans to let his move ‘flop’ and get listening to his latest release. 

Tom posted a reel on Instagram with the caption: “Let’s add some excitement! I’m planning to claim the ‘Christmas no.1 2024’ title, but it’s up to you to decide what will be tattooed on my leg. Stream it, buy the vinyl, and let’s see if we can make this a hit together instead of letting it flop.

The video showing Tom receiving a tattoo was accompanied by the lyrics from “It Can’t Be Christmas,” specifically, ‘Could I have lost my senses? Perhaps. Am I out of my mind? Rescue me.’ We eagerly await the unveiling of the Christmas Number 1 on Friday to see if it will surpass all expectations!

Tom’s It Can’t Be Christmas is one of Amazon Music’s new festive releases for 2024. 

Two weeks back, the tune made its debut in the Top 40 at position 25, subsequently ascending to number 6 on the recent chart released last Friday.

This action signals the return of the performer, and given that his song from last year climbed up to the second spot on Amazon charts, he might achieve success once again.

Tom will be hoping to beat Amazon’s previous star Sam Ryder’s tune You’re Christmas To Me. 

Amazon has had a strong of successful Christmas marketing campaign featuring UK-based pop stars.

In 2019, Ellie Goulding’s cover of Joni Mitchell’s River, topped the charts.

And the shopping giant has a secret weapon up its sleeve.

They intend to broadcast it to everyone with an Alexa device, which means the number of streams is likely to skyrocket.

And this is not the first time Tom and Amazon have teamed up.

The online shopping platform is eagerly anticipating another triumph, given the viral sensation that Tom’s Gillette song, “The Best a Man Can Get,” has become.

The jingle has now proved so popular that the performer includes it in his gig setlists.

According to a source, Tom finalized his agreement with Amazon last month, securing his role as the voice actor for their major holiday advertising initiative in December.

Just like Gillette, Tom is composing a tune specifically for advertisements. When his promotional campaign starts, fans will get a chance to listen to this song.

‘It’s really catchy and will definitely become an ear worm for anyone who listens to it.’

Amazon aims to recruit numerous celebrities to enhance their advertisements, and they are optimistic that they will become the top choice this year.

For Tom, achieving success in his career has been accompanied by certain personal challenges, as he has just revealed his recent diagnosis with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

ADHD, or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, refers to a behavioral pattern characterized by difficulties sustaining focus, excessive restlessness, and acting on whims rather than thinking things through.

On the Russell Howard’s Wonderbox podcast airing this Wednesday, Tom mentioned that he’s collaborating with renowned music producer Justin Tranter, known for his work with artists like Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber.

Regarding his upcoming album, Tom revealed: “I’ve been crafting this new work in the US, and it’s been an incredible experience. We delved deep into personal territory. It explores my battles with various challenges I’ve faced, such as substance abuse, be it alcohol or drugs. I’ve bared my soul, sharing stories from my childhood to the present, encompassing family, friendships, and relationships.

In June, Tom admitted he found himself in a ‘sinking hole’ as he opened up about his mental health.

The songwriter, known for his honesty, shared the story behind him starting to compose music as an outlet for his emotions.

In my own experience, I encountered an unexpected and overwhelming situation that left me feeling like I was trapped in a deep, dark well. It’s crucial to address such challenges for mental health awareness.

Struggling to rise from bed, I felt as if everyone and everything were working against me. I harbored doubts about my self-worth, a feeling I’d never shared with others, be it friends or family.

‘So then I started to just write little notes in a notepad and then picked up a guitar.’
