Tom Fletcher’s Son Buzz, 11, Lands Role in Starlight Express – Proud Dad Reveals All!

On Instagram over the weekend, Tom Fletcher shared that his eldest son, Buzz, has secured a part in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s popular musical, Starlight Express, just like his father did.

The vocalist from McFly expressed feelings of both apprehension and immense pride when he witnessed Buzz make his stage debut at Wembley Park Theatre.

Tom, husband to Giovanna and father of Buzz (age 11), Buddy (age 8), and Max (age 6), recently delighted fans of Buzz by posting a collection of photos featuring him on stage.

In addition to judging on “The Voice,” he posted a video of his son practicing for rehearsals and a photo of a script with his name written on its cover.

Tonight, Tom announced, “This is Control!” – we’ve been secretly preparing for a while, but tonight was race night, and our fantastic Buzz made his first appearance as Control in the amazing Starlight Express at starlightexpressldn.

I’m utterly speechless, struggling to find words, as I watched him confidently stride onto that stage, delivering his captivating opening lines, followed by an unforgettable performance. It was like being under a spell, an experience etched into our memories forever!

I’m incredibly grateful to every member of the Starlight team for having faith in him and offering him such an extraordinary chance to be involved in this stunning performance.

I’d like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who played a role in his journey, particularly his remarkable teachers, not forgetting @joscottschool. Their unwavering support and encouragement during auditions and rehearsals have been nothing short of inspiring. Tonight, he made us all proud!

In their youth, Tom and his spouse, Giovanna, crossed paths at the renowned Sylvia Young Theatre School. Over time, Giovanna built a profession not only as an actress but also as a writer and broadcast personality.

She is currently starring in The Girl On The Train touring production.

After Giovanna’s playful Instagram post last year, he had stopped wearing his wedding ring, following her suggestion.

39-year-old winner of I’m A Celebrity, who married a singer in 2012, posted on Instagram expressing her displeasure about her husband not wearing their wedding band.

Posting a picture of herself showing off our wedding ring, Giovanna wrote: “Dear @tomfletcher, it looks like you left something behind… #stillhitched #pleasekeepiton ❤️.

The post was published shortly following the celebration of their 12th wedding anniversary, during which Giovanna publicly expressed her deep affection for her long-term spouse.

On her wedding anniversary, Giovanna posted a photo of herself at the head table, with her face buried in her hands. She captioned it: “12 years since the most memorable best man’s speech that brought on this reaction… (But our dads found it hilarious!)

12 wonderful years of matrimony to you, @tomfletcher! Wishing you a flood of warm emotions tonight and forevermore! With love, XXX.

During that time, Tom also showcased a romantic touch by sharing two photos from his wedding with Giovanna on the special day.

While engaged in the festivities, Tom chose to reminisce on his wedding day memories by posting two pictures of him and Giovanna.

‘You may now high-five the bride,’ he wrote. ‘We got hitched 12 years ago today. 

‘Happy anniversary honey. @mrsgifletcher.’

In 2023, Giovanni shared her intentions of renewing her vows with Tom, a private event where they would express their continued love and commitment to each other.

In her own words, she described it as a simple, heartfelt expression of love rather than an extravagant or showy event.

‘We can definitely say that we don’t know who we would be without each other in our lives. 

We have an intimate understanding of one another, and it’s hard for me to conceive spending time with someone whom I constantly feel the need to wear a mask around, or present myself in a particular manner.

In simpler terms, I believe that true confidence in a relationship means feeling free to be your authentic self without pretense. Tom provides this for me, unequivocally.

They initially crossed paths at Sylvia Young theater school, and they exchanged their first kiss at the tender age of thirteen. However, it was not until much later in life that they truly began a relationship.

Looking back, we had both grown older, each of us had been involved with other people, and it seemed like our dynamic was fundamentally distinct,” Giovanna reminisced.

Despite their hectic careers and parenthood responsibilities, she emphasized the importance of setting aside time for one another. In her words, “Given our busy lives, it could be all too easy to overlook each other. But for us, it’s about finding moments to stay connected.

Sharing laughter is a way we express affection towards each other. It’s incredibly appealing. I’d choose the man who can bring laughter into your life over one with immense physical strength anytime.

Giovanna stated that she has no intention of having additional children, expressing it as: ‘The store closed after Max.’

In a flash, I experienced a profound realization, a sense of “This will be my final time doing this,” and I found peace in that decision.
