Tom Cruise to Receive British Knighthood Amid Romance with Ana de Armas
Will it be: ‘Arise, Sir Tom Cruise?’
Reports suggest that representatives from Cruise’s camp have received inquiries regarding the potential bestowal of a knighthood, with speculations running high that this prestigious title might be conferred upon him as early as the upcoming King Charles’s Birthday Honors.
Cruise, 62, wouldn’t be the first American to be granted an honorary knight or damehood.
The late Queen Elizabeth II personally bestowed an honor upon Steven Spielberg, Angelina Jolie, and Bill Gates.
Should Tom Cruise receive a nobility title in the upcoming honors list scheduled for release on June 8th, it could potentially lead to a shared visit to the Palace with his friend, David Beckham (age 50), who also expresses similar aspirations.
With regard to Cruise, he has significantly impacted the world of British cinema throughout his career – it’s not uncommon for Americans who’ve made notable contributions to British science, fashion, military service, and the arts to receive honors – and maintains close ties with the Royal Family, having accompanied Prince William and Kate Middleton to the London premiere of Top Gun: Maverick in 2022.

In that very same year, he encountered enthusiastic fans unexpectedly during a spontaneous stroll in Windsor, and later performed at a concert to honor the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee festivities.
Many people were taken aback when he unexpectedly paid a personal visit, exchanging fist bumps and waves with spectators while making his way towards the site of the Royal Windsor Horse Show.
Later on, he presided over the Platinum Jubilee Extravaganza – A Journey Through Time, where over 500 horses and a thousand people honored the Queen in attendance.
In that TV interview, Cruise stated that there was no moment of indecision when he was invited to participate in the event.
‘It is a wonderful event and I feel very privileged to be here. I was very honoured,’ he said.
I hold a deep affection for the historical background of England, and I hold the Queen in high esteem… She’s simply a woman I deeply respect. She embodies an extraordinary level of grace. Her dedication is something I greatly admire, and the achievements she has made are nothing short of historic.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d like to express that this individual embodies qualities such as dignity, devotion, and kindness – traits that are universally recognized by leaders across the globe, including those from America and beyond. It’s been my personal observation that these values resonate deeply within her.
During our conversation, I shared an intriguing encounter from my past – a chance meeting with His Royal Highness Prince Philip at a charity event held within the grand halls of Buckingham Palace back in 2017.
Cruise shared a fascinating tale about managing to fly a helicopter into Buckingham Palace during the Queen’s coronation. He was on the verge of suggesting, “I guess I could land a helicopter for you if you ever find yourself needing one, and perhaps even pick you up – I think I could do it right there.

On Monday, the actor will receive a BFI Fellowship in recognition of his contributions to British cinema, similar to how Christopher Nolan, a Briton-American, received one a month prior to being named a Knight.
Instead of filming just anywhere, Cruise decided to capture multiple movies, such as several Mission: Impossible flicks, in England. Specifically, he filmed in London, Birmingham, North Yorkshire, and the Lake and Peak Districts. This choice not only highlights British artisan skills but also generates employment opportunities, imparts skills, and provides training.
He considers himself a lover of all things English and has spent a significant portion of the last twenty years residing in the United Kingdom. He owns an apartment in the heart of London’s Knightsbridge district and a secluded country residence nestled in Kent.
Frequently spotted taking off from Battersea, located in southwest London, he’s the one. Lately, it seems he isn’t flying solo as he’s been seen with actress Ana de Armas, believed to be his current partner at this time, who is 37 years old.
For quite some time, he has been an adherent of Scientology. His daughter Bella, aged 32, resides in Croydon and is employed at the local Scientology Center in East Grinstead. It’s generally believed that his religious beliefs won’t present any issues that could affect his possibility of receiving a knighthood.
The BFI Fellowship will additionally recognize Tom Cruise’s advocacy for the movie-going experience – he consistently encourages viewers to watch every film in a theater, and he recently expressed his delight at having seen Ryan Coogler’s film “Sinners” on the big screen.
In a statement issued by the BFI, actor Tom Cruise, currently in South Korea promoting his latest Mission: Impossible movie set to hit US theaters on May 23, expressed his deep gratitude for receiving the award.
In what could be his last attempt during his long-standing quest for an honorary knighthood, he stated, “I’ve been creating films in the United Kingdom for more than four decades and have no intention of slowing down. The UK is filled with remarkable artists – actors, directors, writers, and crew members – as well as breathtaking landscapes that are second to none. I am thankful for all the British Film Institute’s efforts in supporting UK filmmaking and this unique art form we both cherish.
