Tom Cruise Honors Late Top Gun Co-Star Val Kilmer
Tom Cruise made a heartfelt homage to his fellow Top Gun cast member, Val Kilmer, following the unexpected passing of Kilmer at the age of 65 this past week.
In the iconic 1986 movie Top Gun, Val Kilmer played Tom ‘Iceman’ Kazansky opposite Tom Cruise’s Captain Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell. These characters will meet again on screen in the 2022 release of Top Gun: Maverick.
Speaking on stage at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas during CinemaCon, Cruise paid tribute to his cherished friend, Val Kilmer, as reported by Variety.
It’s difficult for me to express just how much respect I have for his work, or the immense feelings of gratitude and honor that washed over me when he became a member of Top Gun and returned for Top Gun: Maverick.
It’d be truly special to share some time together, reminiscing about the memories we created with him, as he was such a movie enthusiast and generous soul. Let’s take a moment to cherish those precious moments we spent with him.
‘I wish you well on the next journey.’
