Tom Cruise Doing His Own Stunts Gets A Lot Of Opinions, But I Didn’t Expect Sam Rockwell’s Bad Guys 2 To Join The Conversation In Such A Fun Way
As a devoted cinema enthusiast, if you’re aware of only two things about Tom Cruise beyond his name, it’s likely that you recognize him as the star of the “Mission: Impossible” movies, and you know that he performs all his own stunts. The 2025 movie calendar is now graced with “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning,” a film that has undeniably pushed the boundaries of action and risk in terms of those death-defying stunts. Frankly, I never imagined that Sam Rockwell’s character from “The Bad Guys 2” would ever become part of such an exciting discussion, but here we are!
How Did The Bad Guys 2 Comment On Tom Cruise’s The Final Reckoning Stunts?
Many actors enjoy performing their own stunts in films, but few are as dedicated and perhaps even fanatical about it as Tom Cruise. The Academy Award nominee has consistently gone above and beyond in this area (which will be awarded at the 2028 ceremony), but for nearly three decades, he’s been self-taught in various new skill sets so that one day he could perform tasks like a real space walk.
Coming up soon is another action-packed blockbuster movie filled with stunts, and it looks like these actors have managed to get there before Tom Cruise, having already released their space action flick. Check it out!
Wow, I must admit, The Bad Guys 2 really caught my attention after its amusing unveiling at CinemaCon in 2025! A sneak peek “backstage” glimpse of the DreamWorks Animation sequel reveals that Sam Rockwell’s Mr. Wolf and his gang of reformed rogues (including Ms. Tarantula, voiced by Awkwafina) took on a perilous stunt – braving the cold vacuum of space before their safe return to Earth.
It’s clear that Rockwell, Awkwafina, and their voice co-stars (Marc Maron, Craig Robinson, and Anthony Ramos) didn’t perform any stunts during the production of this animated masterpiece, but it’s undeniable that they cleverly mock the leading star of Top Gun in a delightfully funny manner.
The movie “The Bad Guys” hit the screens in 2022, and while its initial reception was mixed to positive from critics, many still believed that aspects such as an impressive voice cast, distinctive animation style, and exciting heist scenes provided compelling reasons to watch it.
Without a doubt, the sequel appears to strengthen the initial and third points by bringing aboard Danielle Brooks, Natasha Lyonne, and Maria Bakalova, while also welcoming back Zazie Beetz, Richard Ayoade, Alex Borstein, and others. Additionally, who wouldn’t be thrilled to discover how these space creatures adapt in a vacuum? I can hardly wait!
