On Sunday, the thrill-seeker aged 62 was seen in London, capturing footage for his newest adventure atop the IMAX building of the British Film Institute.

A video taken by spectators below reveals a crowd of people surrounding the colossal theater, trying to capture Tom Cruise who was seen standing up in the air.

It seems that part of the purpose behind this daring act remains unclear, but it does appear linked to the upcoming release of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, hitting U.S. cinemas on May 23rd.

In an attempt to win over his latest love interest, Ana de Armas, Cruise might have combined his recent visit to the BFI IMAX rooftop with an upcoming event where he will receive the BFI Fellowship, the most prestigious award bestowed by the British Film Organization on Monday.

During such perilous performances by the Magnolia star, there was a trusted professional beside his civilian companion, keeping her hand and ensuring her safety.

It’s uncertain whether Cruise climbed up to the rooftop through a standard entrance, or if he employed some thrilling methods to ascend there instead.

In more recent times, the actor has become well-known for championing a cause: enjoying movies exactly as they were intended – in cinemas. This passion has been especially evident since the coronavirus outbreak started to subside.

From my perspective as a lifestyle aficionado, it’s not surprising that Tom Cruise chose the BFI IMAX for his recent attention-grabbing stunt. After all, this cinema boasts the largest screen in the UK, stretching an impressive 65 feet tall and 85 feet wide, making it the perfect venue to create a spectacle.

On Sunday, Cruise shared with fans that he joined the Mission: Impossible series starting from Brian De Palma’s debut film in 1996, as he aspired to revolutionize the action genre following a series of successful dramatic roles in the late ’80s and early ’90s that significantly boosted his popularity.

He expressed, as reported by Deadline, “I was contemplating Mission and asking myself, ‘What practical steps can we take?'” The focus was on enhancing action and narrative techniques, aiming to infuse them with more emotion. That’s what intrigues me. To achieve this, I delved into the study of stunts and various camera technologies in order to refine my skills and advance the technology.

Besides not having a formal background in acting or filmmaking, he managed to collaborate intimately with notable directors such as Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg, as well as legendary actor Paul Newman from The Color of Money, who helped him learn the intricacies of his profession.

During an early stage of his career, Cruise found a strategy where he persuaded film studios to assign him international assignments, allowing him to gain insights into movie production beyond the U.S. borders.

At that point in time, Hollywood truly embodied its own character – it was deeply rooted in American culture. However, it also held a significant international appeal.
