Tom Cruise breaks silence on ‘historic’ Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning opening

Tom Cruise finally speaks up about the record-breaking box office of ‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’ over the weekend.

In its debut weekend, the eighth film of the “Mission: Impossible” series brought in a record-breaking $190 million globally, making it the highest-grossing opening for any movie in the franchise’s history.

After the Memorial Day weekend, Variety claims that the movie has amassed more than $200 million worldwide.

However, unexpectedly, it was not Mission: Impossible that claimed the number one spot at the four-day Memorial Day weekend box office; instead, that title went to Lilo & Stitch, earning a staggering $341 million.

The two films combined made for a record-breaking Memorial Day weekend at the box office.

In a statement on X Cruise wrote: “This weekend was one for the history books!

A big round of applause and gratitude goes out to all filmmakers, artists, studio workers, and everyone else involved in productions. Your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed!”

The new sentence maintains the original sentiment but is written in more conversational language that is easy to read and understand.

“To every theater and every employee who helps bring these stories to audiences, thank you.

The actor expressed gratitude to everyone working at Paramount Pictures and Skydance, acknowledging their long-term collaboration and consistent backing.

Above all, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the audience worldwide – the very reason we perform and the source of our joy in entertaining. Warmly, Tom.

Regardless of how well Mission: Impossible – Fallout performed at the box office, it hasn’t quite managed to recoup its substantial production cost of $400 million yet.

Over the past 34 years, Tom Cruise has portrayed Ethan Hunt for the first time, and this eighth installment might just be his final appearance in the franchise.

When inquired about the future of the franchise at the Cannes Film Festival, Cruise responded to reporters: “I prefer if everyone simply watches it and has a good time. We’ve had an incredible journey creating it and it’s been a blast; I just want you all to have fun with it.

“Enjoy this and know everything is the culmination has come to this moment right now.”

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is out now in cinemas.
