‘TOILETPAPER’ and Fotografiska Join Forces for Upcoming Berlin Show

Discontented with the strictness of the art sphere, Maurizio Cattelan and Pierpaolo Ferrari embarked on a mission to create their unique niche – a haven for their mutual passion for the absurd, boundary-pushing, surreal, and thought-provoking. In 2010, they brought their vision to life, giving birth to TOILETPAPER.

Currently, the Italian art duo is preparing to reveal their latest exhibition at Fotografiska Berlin in Germany. The exhibit, named ToiletFotoPaperGrafiska, dares to move beyond the traditional printed page and delve into captivating installations and vibrant settings that celebrate the cult publication’s unique blend of dark satire, pop culture, and biting social commentary.

As a gamer, I’d say: “Dive into the whimsical madness of TOILETPAPER, where you’ll find yourself swimming in pools brimming with plastic bananas or navigating through a labyrinthine funhouse adorned with wall-to-wall prints. It’s not about solving puzzles here; it’s about embracing the bizarre, indelible experience this game has to offer.

The co-founders compared it to feeling like you’ve been invited to an unforgettable party – the kind where everyone is noticeably tipsy, and yet here you are as the one who’s completely sober.

ToiletFotoPaperGrafiska will be on view from May 10 through August 31, 2025.
