Todd Chrisley fired from chaplain’s assistant job for ‘associating with inmates’
As a fervent admirer of resilience and perseverance, I find Todd Chrisley’s journey to be nothing short of inspiring. Despite the challenges he has faced, including his recent removal from his position as a chaplain’s assistant at the Florida prison where he is serving time for tax evasion, fraud, and conspiracy, he continues to maintain an unwavering faith and commitment to making a difference in others’ lives.
It appears that Todd Chrisley’s role as an assistant to the chaplain has been taken away within the Florida prison where he’s serving a ten-year sentence due to his convictions in tax evasion, fraud, and conspiracy cases.
Previously known “Chrisley Knows Best” actor was dismissed from his position following observations made by Pensacola facility staff, who noticed him interacting with inmates involved in the prison’s Residential Drug Abuse Program, as reported by his lawyer, Jay Surgent, to People on Thursday.
Chrisley’s dismissal was unexpected according to Surgent, since for the past two years that the TV personality served as a prison chaplain, Surgent had consistently been content with his performance.
Without any apparent cause following such a long period, he suddenly declared he could no longer continue, as reported by Surgent to Us Weekly. Notably, his client was unaware of any wrongdoing, and there were neither hearings nor official announcements regarding this matter.
A representative from the Federal Bureau of Prisons chose not to discuss the matter with TMZ, stating instead that due to privacy concerns, they don’t comment on the living conditions or assigned tasks of any inmate.
In June 2022, Todd and Julie Chrisley were found guilty of tax evasion and bank fraud. The former real estate mogul was given a 12-year sentence for his involvement in a five-year scheme, which gained momentum before their reality TV stardom. As a result of their sentencing, USA Network decided to terminate “Chrisley Knows Best” and its spinoff series “Growing Up Chrisley.
After being recognized as a “model inmate,” Todd’s sentence was subsequently shortened by two years due to his eligibility for the reduction under the First Step Act, according to the Tallahassee Democrat.
In the previous month, a federal judge increased Julie Chrisley’s prison sentence to seven years due to her guilt in bank fraud and tax evasion cases. The judge denied the reality TV personality’s plea for a lighter sentence than what was initially handed down.
Following the conviction of my parents, I’ve openly criticized the U.S. legal system and voiced our family lawyers’ attempts to overturn their verdict and sentences. This has been a recurring topic on my “Unlocked” podcast, as well as at the 2021 Republican National Convention.
Previously, the ex-beauty queen aged 27 stated that she feels God positioned her father in the Pensacola Federal Prison Camp to bring about significant change.
2023, as a movie critic reflecting upon a profound scene, I find myself moved to express my admiration for my father’s work in the chapel. It’s a sight to behold, an absolute marvel that fills me with unbounded pride. Witnessing all the individuals discovering Jesus within those sacred walls is nothing short of astounding.
Todd Chrisley is unhappy and disheartened to no longer be conducting religious services at Pensacola, a facility serving Christian, Jewish, and Muslim inmates. However, Surgent mentioned that despite this dismissal, Todd’s faith remains unshaken, as he believes that ultimately, God will find a way to resolve things favorably for him, Julie, and their family.
