Todd And Julie Chrisley Will Be Pardoned By President Trump, Savannah Chrisley Reacted With An Emotional Video
For quite some time, the Chrisley family was primarily recognized for their reality TV shows. However, things took a turn when Todd and Julie Chrisley were convicted of bank fraud around 2022. Now, approaching the third anniversary of that verdict in June 2022, former President Donald Trump has announced his intention to grant them pardons. Savannah Chrisley, who has been open about her parents’ imprisonment, swiftly expressed her emotional response.
Todd And Julie Chrisley Pardoned
On Tuesday, May 27, Trump called Savannah Chrisley to inform her that he intends to pardon her parents of their convictions for bank fraud, tax evasion and obscuring their earnings that were showcased in Chrisley Knows Best. In a video posted on the Team Trump Instagram page, the president told Savannah Chrisley over the phone:
It’s wonderful news since your parents will soon be free from any obligations and clean, and I hope we can accomplish this by the next day. Is that alright with you? We’ll make every effort to get it done tomorrow… Although I don’t personally know them, I extend my warmest wishes for their happiness and well-being.
As a movie reviewer, I’d rephrase it like this: In my opinion, the pardon granted to the Chrisleys, a well-known couple, has rectified an egregious miscarriage of justice. This action brings back two loving parents into their family and community who were unfairly singled out due to their conservative values and prominent public image.
Previously reported was that Todd Chrisley expressed hope for a presidential pardon from Trump this year. Whether Todd and Julie will comment on the recent developments is yet unknown, but it’s possible they could issue a statement in response to a potential pardon, which might occur as early as May 28th.
Savannah Chrisley’s Thoughts
Savannah Chrisley has been a proponent for her parents’ release for years, including sharing hopes just last year that her mother would be home “by Thanksgiving.” She wasted no time in celebrating the news on social media, posting an emotional video on Instagram saying this:
Overwhelmed with joy here! I’ve shed countless tears of happiness. Earlier today, as I stepped into Sam’s Club, I received a personal call from the president, informing me that he was signing pardon documents for both my parents. This means they will be coming home, either tonight or tomorrow! It still feels surreal. I can’t fully grasp it yet, but I am beyond excited! I will forever be grateful to President Trump, his administration, and everyone who worked tirelessly and passionately to ensure my family could reunite. My endless gratitude goes out to all the lawyers involved in this process.
Or in a conversational tone:
