Danika Mason apologized on the Today Show for her live reports from the Winter Olympics in Italy, which received a lot of criticism online.
During a live report from Livigno on Thursday morning’s breakfast show, the Channel Nine sports reporter, age 34, apologized for having had something to drink the night before.
She started by saying, “I just want to quickly apologize, if that’s alright with everyone.”
I just wanted to thank everyone for their kind messages. I’m doing alright, just a little embarrassed about everything.
I made a mistake and shouldn’t have been drinking, especially given the cold and the altitude. I also probably should have eaten something beforehand.
‘But I want to take full responsibility. It’s not the standard that I set for myself.
‘So in saying that, I am genuinely sorry.’
More to come.
