Today host Hoda Kotb left horrified by Jenna Bush Hager’s bizarre on-air act after begging her: ‘Don’t do it’
As an ardent fan who has been following Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager for years, I must say that their recent antics on Today have left me utterly amused and captivated! The pretzel perfume debacle was just another instance of their infectious chemistry and playful banter that makes their morning show a delight to watch.
On a chilly Friday morning, I found myself utterly taken aback and left gaping in disbelief as my cherished co-host, Jenna Bush Hager, showcased some truly peculiar antics involving a pretzel during our live broadcast.
The duo were testing out a brand new perfume from US franchise Auntie Anne’s, which is a scent based on their famous buttery pretzel, when mother-of-three Jenna decided to start rubbing herself with the doughy snack.
Hoda, aged 60, remarked, “It’s quite pleasant, similar to delicious buttered bread!” Following Jenna, 42, spraying the fragrance onto their colleague Brian, she said, “I believe this scent has a masculine quality to it!”
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I find myself pondering over an intriguing observation: “Am I unusual for not finding disdain in that?” was Jenna’s remark, followed by an exuberant exclamation, “Absolutely, I adore a good carbohydrate!” She then addressed Hoda with a curious question, “Does this scent remind you of Paris?” alluding to her co-host’s recent adventure in the French capital for the 2024 summer Olympics.
“No way!”
In my role as a lifestyle expert, let me share an amusing incident: I found myself caught up in a fit of laughter when a mother-of-three, engrossed in dance, began to massage her left arm with a pretzel. The camera crew and Hoda were equally entertained, prompting the question, “Who is this jovial woman?”
Previously known Daughter of a Former President kept laughing uncontrollably and said to Hoda, “What’s funny is that you were expecting it!” To which Hoda responded, “Indeed, I was!”
Jenna cautioned viewers, “Please don’t attempt it,” promptly, Hoda steered the chat towards the new beauty product introduced by a different food chain, Chipotle, with Jenna.

“Jenna inquired if Donna required assistance as she found it challenging to remove a stubborn green lip mark and admitted that perhaps she hadn’t applied enough moisturizer.”
Hoda hinted that maybe you overdid it, as she thought you had kept it on for too long, while you clarified that instructions recommend leaving it on for between 30 to 60 seconds, but you accidentally left it on for about 10 minutes.
Hoda wondered if a burrito could be eaten without it getting messy, to which Jenna playfully suggested they try a pretzel instead, while Donna jokingly reminded them about the pretzel she had previously touched.
Well, let me tell you, I’m going to indulge myself for a moment… That’s what Donna said as she chose another pretzel and took a large bite to show that the lip color doesn’t come off easily.
On this occasion, it’s not the first time this week that Jenna has left her fellow co-hosts and the Today team in awe. As she disclosed on Wednesday, she had suffered a broken finger and a black eye.
The two women were talking about decluttering their possessions and not keeping unnecessary items, when Jenna confessed: “Now, I’ve actually lost my lucky necklace in the ocean, you see? Some events have occurred since then. I fell, I got a shiner on my eye, I fractured my ring finger… so maybe some of you are wondering if I’m leaving my husband. But no.”
Hoda gasped and asked: ‘You broke it?’ which led to Jenna holding up her left hand so that her cohost could inspect it and after doing so, she remarked: ‘Oh, it’s really big, still!’ referring to the swelling.
Regarding her husband, Jenna said, “Yes, he says I only twisted it, but it turned blue!” To which Hoda replied confidently, “It’s definitely broken.”
Jenna asserted that she had a small, black eye and these events transpired immediately following the loss of her necklace.
