Inspired by the novels of Alan Bradley, Flavia tells the story of 11-year-old Flavia de Luce, a brilliant young chemist. When she discovers a body in the garden of her family’s ancient, decaying manor – a home they’ve lived in for 500 years – it sparks a newfound passion and reveals her destiny: to become a detective.
When Flavia’s father, Havillan Freeman, suddenly confesses to a murder, she’s determined to prove his innocence. This means she has to solve the case while staying one step ahead of the police, led by Inspector Hewitt. As she investigates, Flavia uncovers hidden truths about both her father and her mother, who disappeared years ago.

He’s thrilled to premiere the first Flavia mystery on Sky and hopes viewers of all ages will love watching it as much as the team loved making it.

As a gamer, I always appreciate a good story, and it’s awesome to see Sky backing British filmmakers with their Sky Originals. They’re really delivering on that promise with a film like Flavia – it’s exactly the kind of unique content I’m looking for.
This heartwarming family movie features a fantastic British cast who bring the story to life with wonderful performances. Molly Belle Wright, in particular, is incredibly talented and poised for a bright future.
