As a huge Richard Burton fan, I’m so excited to hear the BBC is marking 100 years since his birth! They’re planning a celebration of his life and career in November, and as part of it, they’re finally showing a film called *Mr Burton* on BBC One and iPlayer. I can’t wait to watch it and celebrate one of Wales’ greatest stars!
The film, directed by Mr. Burton, is the first feature-length movie funded by BBC Cymru Wales. It’s a true story about Richard Jenkins, a rebellious student, and how he transformed into the famous actor Richard Burton, with the guidance of his teacher, Philip Burton.

I really loved Marc Evans’s film – it’s just beautiful! And honestly, Jones and Manville were fantastic, exactly as you’d expect. Even *Little White Lies* noticed how great Lawtey was, especially considering he was playing such an iconic figure. He really brought something special to the role.
