Excited to see Cillian Murphy as Tommy Shelby again in Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man? Prime Video is offering a chance to watch one of his earlier, suspenseful movies this weekend.
Directed by Sean Ellis, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Anthony Frewin, Anthropoid tells the true story of two Czech soldiers in exile who plotted to kill SS officer Reinhard Heydrich in Prague during the 1940s.
Cillian Murphy plays Jozef Gabčík, and Jamie Dornan stars as Jan Kubiš. The film also features Toby Jones, Charlotte Le Bon, Harry Lloyd, and Anna Geislerová.

The movie Anthropoid was briefly taken off Prime Video in August 2025, but it’s back now! Amazon Prime subscribers can watch it for free starting this week.
I’m so excited to watch Anthropoid! If you’re not already an Amazon Prime member, you can actually try it out for 30 days for free and watch it that way. It’s a great deal!

When Anthropoid came out in 2016, I was really impressed! Empire magazine called it a powerful and emotional take on a little-known part of European history, and Little White Lies specifically pointed out how thrilling the ending was – it really kept me on the edge of my seat.
The film Anthropoid builds to a powerful and moving second half, ultimately delivering a satisfying, though somewhat predictable, action-thriller experience.
The Guardian praised the thriller as smart, intense, and captivating, while JoBlo described it as a deeply disturbing experience that will stay with viewers long after the movie ends.
Enjoying Cillian Murphy in Anthropoid? You can also stream the sci-fi thriller Sunshine on Prime Video, and the intense thriller Retreat is now available on BBC iPlayer.
Anthropoid is available to watch now on Prime Video.
The latest issue of Living Legends, a vibrant, full-color 100-page magazine celebrating Taylor Swift, is now available! You can purchase it at newsstands or online for only £8.99.
