Titanic star is unrecognisable as Marlon Brando in first look at new movie

As a seasoned gamer who’s spent countless hours immersed in the cinematic universe, I must say the revelation of Billy Zane’s transformation into Marlon Brando for the upcoming biopic “Waltzing with Brando” has me absolutely gobsmacked!

First-look photos of Billy Zane in Waltzing with Brando have been released.

Actor Marlon Brando, famously known as the lead in the Titanic movie, will portray himself in an upcoming biopic titled “Bernard Judge,” which is based on the book of the same name. This book details the construction of Brando’s self-named resort on a private island near Tahiti, a project overseen by architect Bernard Judge.

In the pictures, Zane bears no resemblance to the renowned actor; there’s even a shot where he appears as Brando, in what many consider his most iconic part, as Vito Corleone in The Godfather.

The movie traces Brando’s endeavor to construct an eco-retreat alongside Judge during a time when he was also featured in films such as “The Godfather” and “Last Tango in Paris.

Waltzing with Brando also stars Richard Dreyfuss and Emily in Paris actor Camille Razat.

The movie is set to debut for the first time on a global scale at the Torino Film Festival in Italy during late November, where it will also serve as the festival’s conclusion. Accompanying the film’s director, Bill Fishman, at this premiere will be Zane.

In a recent Instagram announcement about attending the festival, Zane mentioned that the movie pays tribute to Brando’s fervor for civil liberties, native peoples’ rights, as well as his lesser-known dedication to environmental conservation and eco-friendly design and construction.

“This dramatic comedy is not your average biopic,” he added.

During a productive five-year span in Marlon Brando’s life, the story unfolds as seen through the perspective of an exceptional architect portrayed by Jon Heder, who was hired to construct Brando’s vision for a carbon-neutral haven on his personally owned Tahitian island in 1970.

This year’s Torino Film Festival is being led by a fresh artistic director, filmmaker Giulio Base, who showered praises on Zane’s acting skills.

“You won’t believe it: he is possessed by Marlon Brando,” he told Variety.

Zane is recognized for his portrayal of Cal Hockley, the suitor of Rose, in James Cameron’s iconic 1997 film “Titanic”. He also appeared as Match in the “Back to the Future” series and made regular appearances as John Justice Wheeler during season 2 of “Twin Peaks”.

There is currently no release date for Waltzing with Brando.
