It seems that Bailey Smith’s quest for love on ‘the apps’ is paying dividends.
The 25-year-old AFL player caused a buzz in July when he signed up for Tinder. Later, in December, he teamed up with Tammy Hembrow, 31, who he previously dated, to promote the app.
A handsome single man was seen on a possible date with an unidentified blonde woman at Manly Beach in Sydney this week.
Bailey dressed casually for his morning meeting, wearing a white T-shirt and navy blue shorts that hit just above his knees.
He also wore white socks pulled up over his shins beneath a pair of sneakers.
Bailey was all smiles as he walked along the boardwalk with his date, and they even enjoyed a drink together.
Bailey’s mystery companion, meanwhile, bore quite a striking resemblance to Tammy.
She wore a form-fitting black sports bra that showed off her trim and taut midriff.
She continued her athletic look with comfortable track pants and black sneakers.
She pulled her blonde hair back into a ponytail and draped a navy blue jumper over her shoulders.
Although it didn’t seem like a romantic connection, Bailey and the woman he was with both appeared very happy to be together.
Last year, Bailey and Tammy made headlines after a highly publicised dating stint.
Despite ongoing speculation about a romantic connection, the two confirmed they would be starting the new year as close friends.
Bailey announced on Instagram that he and Tammy are now officially friends and are partnering with Tinder for a new project.
‘I’m actually hard launching someone today,’ Smith told his followers in a cheeky video.
Tammy and I are teaming up this summer to help each other improve our Tinder profiles and get better results.
The video immediately caught people’s attention, especially since there had been a lot of talk for months about whether or not the two were dating.
Bailey went on, ‘Exactly. Who could give you better dating advice than a friend?’
The couple received some fairly obvious criticism regarding their initial project with Tinder.
Shortly after Christmas, Tammy posted an awkward video on Instagram of Bailey pretending to be a dating coach, giving Tammy advice on how to start conversations on dating apps.
The clip elicited a flurry of comments from fans, with many saying the result was ‘awkward’.
Influencer Simone Anderson seemed to mock the advertisement with a sarcastic comment, simply writing ‘Fab ad’ followed by several crying-laughing emojis.
Another follower replied to Simone’s cheeky comment with: ‘Stop lying.’
One fan commented that the photo looked really awkward, and another said it had to be a joke.
Another follower went one further, claiming the ad was the worst thing they had ever witnessed.
People reacted strongly to what they saw, with one person calling it the worst thing they’d ever witnessed. Another commenter pointed out that, despite the negative reaction, the person involved was still highly compensated.
