Ike Turner Jr., son of music icons Tina and Ike Turner, has passed away at 67 years old.
Ike Jr. died on Saturday, October 4th, at a hospital in Los Angeles due to kidney failure, as confirmed by his cousin, Jacqueline Bullock, to TMZ.
I’m deeply saddened to share that my cousin, Ike Turner Jr., has passed away,” Bullock told Page Six. “He wasn’t just a cousin, he was like a brother to me, as we were raised together in the same family.
I was absolutely devastated to hear that he hasn’t been doing well lately. Apparently, he’s been struggling with his health for a while now, especially after some heart problems and then… a stroke just last month. It just breaks my heart to think about him going through all of that.
In the statement, Bullock fondly recalled Ike Jr.’s musical gifts and the significant mark he left on the music industry.
Growing up as the son of Tina and Ike Turner, he showed musical talent from a young age, wanting to try every instrument. Though he initially loved playing the drums, his mother, Tina Turner, and his aunt made him disassemble his drum kit after every practice. This ultimately led him to prefer playing the keyboard instead.

Despite facing common difficulties, he ultimately achieved great success, becoming a highly respected sound engineer, musician, and Grammy award winner.
Ike Jr.’s sister-in-law, Afida Turner – widow of his brother Ronnie – shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram. She wrote, ‘Rest in peace, Ike Jr. You were an amazing brother-in-law, and I’m so glad I got to speak with you before you passed. Love you, rest in peace.’
Ike Jr. is one of Tina’s two adopted sons from her relationship to Ike Turner.
Following in his parents’ footsteps, Ike Jr. pursued a musical career, playing with the tribute band The Love Thang Band and singer Sweet Randi Love.
He won a Grammy Award for his work with his father on the 2006 album, *Risin’ With The Blues*, which was named Best Traditional Blues Album.
Tina and Ike Sr. raised four kids together.
Tina Turner adopted Ike Turner’s two sons, Ike Jr. and Michael, from his earlier relationship with Lorraine Taylor.
Tina and her husband later had one child together, Ronnie Turner. Tina was also a mother to her son Raymond Craig, from a previous relationship with musician Raymond Hill.

Tina passed away in May 2023 at the age of 83 after a prolonged illness. Her ex-husband, Ike Sr., died in December 2007 at 76 from a cocaine overdose.
The legendary performer died at her home in Kusnacht near Zurich, Switzerland.
It’s with a heavy heart that I share the news of Ike Jr.’s passing. He was predeceased by his brothers, Craig and Ronnie. Losing Craig to suicide in 2018 and then Ronnie to colon cancer in 2022 was incredibly difficult for the whole family, and my heart goes out to them all as they navigate this latest loss. It’s a reminder of how precious life is and the importance of cherishing every moment with loved ones.
In a 2018 interview with The Daily Mail, Ike Jr. shared that Tina had been his mother figure since he was two years old, stating she was the only mother he’d ever known.
He said it’s been a very long time since he last spoke to his mother – likely around the year 2000. He believes his brothers haven’t spoken to her in years either. She’s moved on with her life, remarried, and now lives in Europe, and doesn’t want to revisit the past.
