Timothy Busfield goes from jail cell to luxury villa as he spends first night of freedom in sprawling Italian-style mansion with hot tub after his release on child sex charges

After being released, Timothy Busfield spent his first night in a luxurious six-bedroom mansion with beautiful gardens, according to the Daily Mail.

After spending a week in jail, 68-year-old Busfield was released from the Metropolitan Detention Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Tuesday.

After turning himself in to Albuquerque police on January 13th on charges of child molestation, the experienced actor was placed in a special, more secure section of the jail for his safety.

The New Mexico prison is well-known for its early wake-up calls for breakfast at 5am and its bare, simple cells. But Busfield’s new location is completely different.

The Villa de Rafael is a luxurious Italian-style home available for rent. It costs $2,483 for a stay of at least three nights and features seven beautifully decorated bathrooms and a private hot tub.

This beautiful home features a separate guest house in the backyard. The main house boasts a gorgeous stained-glass dome and comfortable beds with luxurious linens.

Guests can also enjoy a gas barbecue, a well-stocked library, and a games room with plenty to do.

Melissa Gilbert, wife of Ian Busfield, was seen at their home early Wednesday morning, still in her pajamas and taking out the trash. She had been visibly emotional with happiness when Judge David Murphy decided to release her husband.

Even though Busfield faces serious accusations, Gilbert, age 61, is supporting him and attended his court hearing in Albuquerque on Tuesday, accompanied by a team of lawyers.

The actress best known for ‘Little House on the Prairie’ had stayed out of the public eye after news broke that Busfield was facing charges related to the sexual abuse of a child. However, she recently wrote a heartfelt letter to the judge before his court hearing, publicly addressing the situation for the first time.

In a letter to Judge Murphy, the actress explained that Tim Busfield is her true love, her biggest support, and her business and life partner.

He’s my rock and the person I turn to for advice. His happiness, funny personality, and cleverness always brighten my day. Tim is truly the center of our big, lively family.

I know Tim better than anyone else, and he knows me just as well. We share a uniquely deep understanding of each other.

I truly believe Tim is the most genuinely good person I’ve ever met. He lives his life committed to helping others – it’s just who he is at his core. It’s inspiring to witness his unwavering dedication to service.

‘He starts every day with kindness and compassion.’

She added: ‘I am trying to tow [sic] a line between logic and all the feelings swirling through me.

I started this letter trying to be rational, but now I’m letting my emotions guide me. I can’t control it. All I want is for this incredible person to be safe and healthy.

As I finish, I’m begging you to look after my beloved husband. He’s always been my shield, and I’m his, but I’m unable to keep him safe right now. That’s what hurts the most – I’m trusting you to protect him in my place.

After the court hearing, where prosecutors argued Busfield should remain in jail because he was a danger to the public, Gilbert – wearing a paisley patterned outfit – expressed her gratitude for the ‘huge amount of support’ her husband had received.

The judge’s support directly contradicted the defense’s claim that the molestation accusations had ruined his career and removed his influence – the very thing the prosecution argued he still possessed.

The case has generated a series of damaging news stories for Busfield, and more people claiming to be victims have come forward to support the prosecution’s claim that he repeatedly touched people inappropriately.

Okay, so it’s just… mortifying, honestly. I mean, I’ve been following this case, and to find out that information – details about their private life – was leaked in court documents? As part of some assessment? It’s just… wow. I can’t believe those details were made public. It feels like such a violation, and I’m honestly shocked they’d share something so personal in those papers. It’s just… ugh, I’m still processing it.

The records contained his responses to some sensitive questions and stated that Mr. Busfield and his wife are happy in their relationship. They shared that as they’ve gotten older, they find more pleasure in companionship and cuddling than in sexual activity.

The statement also included confirmation from Mr. Busfield’s wife that they have a fulfilling intimate relationship.

The legal troubles of Busfield became public on January 9th when the Albuquerque Police Department issued an arrest warrant for him. He was accused of sexually abusing twin 11-year-old boys during the filming of the show, The Cleaning Lady.

Busfield, despite maintaining his innocence, disappeared for several days. He eventually turned himself in to authorities in New Mexico on January 13th, after a 2,000-mile drive from his cabin in upstate New York.

He was formally charged with the crimes on the same day and appeared in court for the first time on January 14th. He looked sad and dejected, wearing an orange prison uniform, as the charges against him were announced.

Busfield has refuted all accusations and, in a video sent to TMZ while en route to turn himself in, expressed his devastation over the claims.

Gilbert stated she believes her husband acted appropriately. Meanwhile, her husband’s legal team argued during Tuesday’s hearing that the accusations are a deliberate attempt to exploit them now that their work on the set is finished.
