Timothée Chalamet’s new movie confirms release date
As a seasoned gamer of both films and music, I must say that the news of Timothée Chalamet’s portrayal of Bob Dylan in “A Complete Unknown” has sent a wave of excitement coursing through my veins! Having grown up listening to Dylan’s iconic tunes, I can’t help but feel a twinge of nostalgia at the thought of seeing one of today’s most promising actors bring his music to life on the big screen.
The eagerly awaited movie featuring Timothée Chalamet, titled “A Complete Unknown“, has secured its release dates in the UK and the USA.
Timothée Chalamet is set to portray renowned rocker Bob Dylan in an upcoming biopic. The film is expected to premiere towards the end of award season on Christmas Day, December 25th, in the United States. In the UK, it will open on January 17, 2025, as reported by Variety.
In the United States, a relatively unrecognized film titled “A Compete Unknown” will be debuting amidst tough rivalry. On the same day, there’s the remake of “Nosferatu” featuring Bill Skarsgård, and a week prior, Disney is releasing their prequel “Mufasa: The Lion King“.
The movie titled “A Complete Unknown” is brought to us by its co-writer and director, James Mangold. He based the film on the book “Dylan Goes Electric!” by Elijah Wald. Notably, Mangold has delved into rock biopics before, notably with the Academy Award-winning Johnny Cash movie “Walk the Line“.
The movie delves into Bob Dylan’s beginnings as an aspiring songwriter facing challenges in New York City, and how he evolved into a trailblazer of the folk-rock genre after his groundbreaking showcase at the Newport Folk Festival.
In the movie, it is Edward Norton, an Academy Award nominee, who shares the screen as the admired figure of Dylan, portraying Pete Seeger. Meanwhile, Elle Fanning and Monica Barbaro take on the roles of Sylvie Russo and Joan Baez, two significant romantic influences in Dylan’s life during his early years.
The movie will also make a reference to Mangold’s “Walk the Line” by featuring Johnny Cash, one of Dylan’s early influences. In “A Complete Unknown”, however, it will be Boyd Holbrook portraying Johnny Cash instead of Joaquin Phoenix.
As a gamer, I’m excited to share that the cast of this game includes James Austin Johnson from Saturday Night Live, Scoot McNairy known for his role in Invincible, and Will Harrison, who stole my heart with his performance in Daisy Jones & the Six.
In a recently released preview, the film titled “A Complete Unknown” is showcasing Timothée Chalamet performing several iconic tunes by Bob Dylan, such as ‘A Hard Rain’s a-Gonna Fall’ and ‘Like a Rolling Stone’.
A Complete Unknown hits cinemas on Christmas Day in the US and January 17, 2025.
