Timothée Chalamet publicly thanked his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, while accepting the Best Actor award at the Critics’ Choice Awards for his role in Marty Supreme.
I was so touched watching Timothée at the Critics’ Choice Awards! He gave a really sweet shout-out to Kylie, his girlfriend of three years, and said her love and support have meant everything to him as he’s grown as an actor. And it was just adorable – the camera panned to Kylie right after, and she mouthed ‘I love you’ back! It was a really special moment.
I want to thank my partner of three years. I love you so much, and I truly couldn’t have gotten through everything without your support. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Timothée Chalamet praised his fellow Best Actor nominees – Leonardo DiCaprio (for One Battle After Another), Joel Edgerton (Train Dreams), Ethan Hawke (Blue Moon), Michael B. Jordan (Sinners), and Wagner Moura (The Secret Agent) – acknowledging their impressive work. He also confessed to being surprisingly nervous while delivering his speech.
I also wanted to give a shout-out to Josh Safdie, the director and co-writer of Marty Supreme. Seriously, the guy’s a fantastic storyteller. I was especially blown away by how well-developed the main character was – it felt so real. I really hope we see more filmmakers take that approach – creating complex characters and not being afraid to show some moral gray areas. It makes for a much more compelling movie, you know?
Your story featured a realistically imperfect character pursuing a dream many of us can understand, and it did so without being preachy or telling us how to think. It’s the kind of storytelling we should all strive for, and I really appreciate you sharing this vision.
Before the Critics’ Choice Awards ceremony, Meg Stalter and Paul W. Downs, who both star in Hacks, turned heads with matching orange outfits. The look was similar to one worn by Timothée Chalamet and Jenna Ortega at the Marty Supreme premiere.
Marty Supreme is a sports drama that follows Marty Mauser, a talented table tennis player determined to become a star. His path to success is complicated by his own stubbornness and self-centered behavior. The film features Timothée Chalamet as Marty, along with Gwyneth Paltrow, Odessa A’zion, Kevin O’Leary, Tyler Okonma, Abel Ferrara, and Fran Drescher.
Marty Supreme is playing in theaters now.
