Timothée Chalamet reunites with his Little Women and Lady Bird co-star Saoirse Ronan for Q&A event on their upcoming films A Complete Unknown and The Outrun at the BFI Southbank

As a keen observer of the world of cinema, I must say that this article paints a vivid picture of the lives and careers of two remarkable artists – Saoirse Ronan and Timothée Chalamet. Their journey, from on-screen lovers to real-life partners and now collaborators in The Outrun, is truly inspiring.

On a Wednesday evening, Timothée Chalamet and Saoirse Ronan found themselves together again, gracing an “In Conversation” event to share insights about their remarkable journeys in the film industry at the BFI Southbank in London.

In two of Greta Gerwig’s films – “Lady Bird” in 2017 and “Little Women” in 2019 – these film actors beautifully portrayed romantic leads. Remarkably, both performances earned their films Oscar nominations for Best Picture.

They have resumed their promotional activities, presenting two fresh projects. Their faces gleamed with joy as they prepared for the Q&A session and the upcoming screening, happy to be reunited once more.

Thirty-year-old Saoirse gracefully donned a dreamy ensemble consisting of a pink organza funnel neck gown overlaid by a sleek black satin skirt.

The Atonement crew paired their eccentric attire with a set of straightforward black heeled sandals and timeless pearl earrings, adding an air of sophistication.

Four-times Oscar-nominated individual finished off her elegant style with a disheveled high bun for her golden locks and a soft, pastel makeup palette.

At the age of 28, Timothée showcased his trendy sense of style in a distressed, brown leather jacket adorned with buttons.

He put the item on top of a bright yellow tee, paired it with baggy cargo pants and sneakers, and kept his mustache and goatee as accessories.

In the Q&A session, Timothée Chalamet was featured talking about his outstanding portrayal of Bob Dylan in the film “A Complete Unknown,” which is scheduled for release in cinemas on Christmas Day.

The movie centres on the singer-songwriter’s controversial switch to electric instruments at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965.

As an uncontainable fanboy, I can’t help but shout it out: Yours truly, Timothée, will be belting out tunes in our upcoming movie! That’s right, the talented Elle Fanning, Edward Norton, Boyd Holbrook, and Monica Barbaro are also part of this exciting cast. But here’s what sets me apart – I’ll be doing my own singing for the film, following my stint as a singer in my 2023 musical flick Wonka. Can’t wait to share the magic!

Simultaneously, Saoirse discussed her latest film, The Outrun, which is her debut production project along with her husband, Jack Lowden.

In a compelling drama, she plays the role of Rona, an ex-alcoholic who has recently completed rehabilitation and is heading back to her native town in the Orkney Islands.

The movie draws inspiration from Amy Liptrot’s acclaimed 2016 memoir, which tells the story of her journey back to her homeland in Orkney as she confronts her past and struggles with addiction.

In my professional opinion, I wholeheartedly endorse this film that scored an impressive 82% on Rotten Tomatoes. The extraordinary performance of Saoirse Ronan was universally lauded, making it a must-watch for any discerning viewer.

In a conversation with The Times, Saoirse shared that it was her husband Jack, aged 34, who convinced her to both produce and appear in the movie.

In our recent discussion, a friend placed a book into my hands, suggesting, “This is something you need to experience.” As we delved into the story of Rona, it became evident that her life revolves primarily around alcohol. Yet, it’s crucial to remember that beneath this fixation lies a human being – one who, in many ways, mirrors our own complexities.

Why wouldn’t you continue collaborating with those you love and trust creatively, since they bring out the best in your work?

‘We have very high expectations for each other. When I attempted Rona’s Orcadian accent during our performance in The Outrun, he asked me skeptically if I was really doing that.’

In the year 2018, they encountered each other while portraying romantic partners in the play “Mary Queen of Scots.” That same year, their relationship blossomed off-screen as well.

They quietly got married six months ago in a small, private ceremony held in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Recently, Saoirse playfully referred to “The Outrun” as her ‘offspring’, during an uncommon conversation about their connection, involving co-star from Slow Horses.

As a lifestyle enthusiast speaking on the Ryan Tubridy Show on Virgin Radio UK, I shared that my partner and I have been a team for quite some time now. This past year has been particularly hectic for us, as our professional commitments have kept us both quite occupied.

As a die-hard enthusiast, I can’t help but share my excitement about a project close to our hearts – “Outrun”. It’s a film we jointly created, nurtured, and now, it’s like our cherished offspring.

We’ve been pouring a significant amount of effort and enthusiasm into this project, and we’re thrilled and elated by the positive response it has received so far.

It’s currently playing in theaters too, so if you’d like to catch it, feel free! I strongly recommend taking a trip to the cinema to watch it. By the way, everything’s going well here – he’s doing the laundry at the moment.
