Timothée Chalamet lands next lead movie role

As a dedicated fan of Timothée Chalamet’s acting journey, I am thrilled to hear about his latest lead role in Josh Safdie’s upcoming film “Marty Supreme.” The news comes hot on the heels of his successful stints in “Dune: Part Two” and “Wonka,” and a multi-year deal with Warner Bros.

Dune: Part Two star Timothée Chalamet has landed his next lead movie role.

The actor will appear in the upcoming movie “Marty Supreme,” directed by Josh Safdie and produced by A24 (as reported by The Hollywood Reporter).

As an excited fan, I can’t wait to learn more about the upcoming movie from A24. Although the specifics of the plot are being kept secret for now, we do know that table tennis will be a part of it. This intrigue was sparked when A24 shared a mysterious teaser image of a table tennis ball on X (previously known as Twitter).

“Josh Safdie’s MARTY SUPREME starring @RealChalamet. Coming soon,” read the caption.

Alongside his role as director, Safdie collaborated with Ronald Bronstein on the film’s screenplay. The duo, along with Timothée Chalamet, Eli Bush, and Anthony Katagas, will also serve as producers.

I’m thrilled to be collaborating with A24 once again on this new project. After the success of our last two films together, “Good Time” (2017) and “Uncut Gems” (2019), which I co-directed with my brother Benny Safdie, it feels great to be back in familiar creative territory with a company that has supported us so well.

Chalamet, the actor, has been keeping occupied with filming James Mangold’s biopic titled “A Complete Unknown.” In this production, he assumes the role of legendary musician Bob Dylan.

In 1965 at the Newport Folk Festival, a young Bob Dylan stirred up the folk music world with his groundbreaking decision to perform electric music. This electrifying performance marked the birth of rock ‘n’ roll as the voice of a generation and left a profound impact on 20th-century music.

Elle Fanning, acting as Dylan’s character’s real-life partner in “The Great,” will portray Suze Rotolo. They dated from 1961 to 1964, but their relationship ended after Dylan had an affair with Joan Baez.

Additionally, the ensemble features Edward Norton portraying the role of folk singer and activist Pete Seeger, Boyd Holbrook bringing Johnny Cash’s legend to life as a musician, and Monica Barbaro interpreting the character of singer-songwriter Baez.

I’m thrilled to share some exciting news as a fellow gamer! Timothée Chalamet has scored a major win after the success of “Wonka” and “Dune: Part Two.” In March, according to Variety, Warner B Bro struck a deal with him for multiple years. This agreement not only secures his role as an actor but also lets him produce projects under their wing. What a fantastic opportunity for growth!

Collaborating with Mike De Luca, Pam Abdy, and their crews on “Wonka” and “Dune” for the past few years has been an incredibly enriching journey for me. (Or: I’ve found working alongside Mike De Luca, Pam Abdy, and their teams on the projects “Wonka” and “Dune” over the last few years to be a deeply fulfilling experience.)

I’m thankful for the studio heads who share my passion for authentic filmmaking. As an actor, producer, and collaborator, their belief in my work is invaluable. Taking this partnership to the next level feels like a seamless progression. Let’s move forward together!

Marty Supreme doesn’t have a release date yet.
