As a film enthusiast with a keen eye for performances, I must admit that I am genuinely intrigued by Timothée Chalamet’s upcoming portrayal of the enigmatic Bob Dylan. With his impressive track record and the fact that two-time Oscar winner Cate Blanchett previously nailed young Dylan in Todd Haynes’ experimental drama, I’m Not There, I am eagerly awaiting to see how Chalamet will embody the iconic singer-songwriter.

On Thursday, Timothée Chalamet appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to discuss his latest film, “A Complete Unknown”. However, the conversation veered towards his mustache and goatee instead.

During my initial visit, I wasn’t yet going through puberty, the 28-year-old Academy Award nominee playfully remarked to the 60-year-old host.

‘So my voice has changed, and now I’ll probably play The Rock in my next movie.’

Timothée grew out his scant facial hair specifically for portraying the lead character in Josh Safdie’s individual directorial project titled “Marty Supreme,” a movie that he is also producing.

Given that Chalamet has kept his mustache even after filming for the $70M A24 production of the ping pong drama concluded a week ago, it seems he’s quite fond of it, as he had the opportunity to shave it off during that time. This movie also features Gwyneth Paltrow, Tyler the Creator, and Fran Drescher in its star-studded cast.

On Thursday, it was the actor who played Dune: Part Two’s action hero making his fourth visit to the CBS talk show. He had previously dropped by in 2018, 2021, and earlier this year in February.

In the backstage area, I casually showcased a couple of swift karate kicks as I sported a cozy mustard-hued sweater draped elegantly around my neck, resembling a stylish scarf.

Chalamet arrived at the Ed Sullivan Theater in Midtown Manhattan with two staffers by his side.

Originally from New York, this individual, who prefers self-styling, donned a blue suede jacket paired with a white shirt adorned with text, as well as pants with a black and white stripe reminiscent of a chef’s attire, and finished off the look with black lace-up shoes.

Despite it clearly being night-time, Timothée rocked dark sunglasses outside the venue.

In the backstage area, Timothée Chalamet interacted with Sabrina Carpenter, a fellow attendee, who was there to talk about her Netflix holiday special titled “A Nonsense Christmas”.

In a unique turn of events, the representative for the Chanel Blue label stepped into the shoes of the iconic Bob Dylan for the authentic biopic produced by Searchlight Pictures. This film will be premiered in US cinemas on December 25, while UK audiences can catch it from January 17.

According to reports, Timothée Chalamet is said to have recruited the same team of professionals – movement coach Polly Bennett, vocal coach Scott Flaherty, and dialect coach Erik Singer – that Austin Butler had engaged for his role as Elvis in 2022.

On Monday, I found myself nominated for the Best Actor in a Motion Picture (Drama) award at the 82nd Golden Globes! Can’t wait to see it all unfold live on CBS/Paramount+ come January 5th. Simply incredible! #GoldenGlobes2023 #TimotheeChalametFanatic

In a tough battle, the multi-talented Willy Wonka contends with strong opponents including Ralph Fiennes from Conclave, Daniel Craig of Queer, Colman Domingo from Sing Sing, Sebastian Stan of The Apprentice, and Adrien Brody of The Brutalist.

Timothée has been honored with accolades for his acting skills at the Gotham Awards, Boston Society of Film Critics Awards, Astra Film Awards, Palm Springs Film Festival, and Santa Barbara Film Festival.

Previously, two-time Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett convincingly portrayed the youthful version of electric-era Dylan, known as Jude Quinn, in Todd Haynes’ highly praised 2007 unconventional drama titled “I’m Not There”.

Nevertheless, A Complete Unknown was executive produced by the mysterious 83-year-old himself, who expressed on December 4 that he’s confident Chalamet will convincingly portray him. Interestingly, he mentioned he has no plans to watch the film.

After watching the movie, consider reading Dylan Goes Electric!, Elijah Wald’s remarkable book from 2015, which the film is based on. Bob seemed particularly enthusiastic about it.

In addition to being praised by critics, the film directed by James Mangold boasts a talented ensemble cast that includes Elle Fanning, Edward Norton, Boyd Holbrook, Monica Barbaro, Nick Offerman, Dan Fogler, and Joe Tippett.
