Timothée Chalamet is serenaded by new pal Susan Boyle in surprise 30th birthday tribute after he hailed BGT icon as ‘one of the greatest living Brits’

On Saturday, Timothée Chalamet received many birthday wishes as he turned 30.

However, none of the messages were probably as heartwarming or unexpected as the one from his new friend, Susan Boyle, who sent a video of herself singing for him.

Timothée recently excited his fans by sharing his appreciation for the famous Britain’s Got Talent finalist, who is 64 years old. He did this while promoting his new and highly anticipated film, Marty Supreme, in the UK.

He’s been gifting a film-inspired jacket to celebrities he admires – like Justin Bieber, Tom Brady, and his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner – and now he’s included Susan, too.

As a thank you, the singer wore the highly sought-after jacket in a special birthday video for Timothée, created with the help of Marty Supreme and A24.

Susan sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to the Dune actor, then sent him a kiss and wished him a happy 30th, signing her message with ‘Love, Susan’.

Timothée immediately expressed his happiness and thanks for the unexpected tribute, posting about it on his Instagram Stories with the message ‘THANK U SUSAN !!!!!!!!’ and several orange hearts.

He also shared an old photo of Susan from her well-known Britain’s Got Talent audition, adding the caption ‘DREAM BIG’.

He remembered Susan’s 2009 audition, where she was initially rejected by the judges and audience. He felt she had always aimed higher than anyone else, a feeling ultimately proven right when she captivated the world with her powerful rendition of ‘I Dreamed A Dream’ from Les Misérables.

In a recent BBC News interview, Timothée shared that he’s a fan of a popular viral video. He was asked which British celebrities he thought would look good wearing a Marty Supreme jacket.

He said it was a good question, and then listed Lewis Hamilton, Victoria and David Beckham, and the rapper Fake Mink.

His final choice was a surprise – the iconic BGT finalist Susan.

Despite the interviewer’s amusement, Timothée firmly stood by his statement, responding seriously: ‘She had enormous ambitions. She dreamed on a scale larger than anyone else.’

Honestly, that story just really stuck with me – I remember experiencing it as if it happened yesterday! It feels like such a pivotal moment, almost like when YouTube first burst onto the scene and changed everything. It really marked a turning point, you know?

The Scottish singer was really touched when a major celebrity publicly acknowledged them, and they excitedly shared their reaction on Instagram.

She shared a screenshot of the interview with a photo of Timothée and wrote a heartfelt message, saying she was very flattered by his words.

Thinking back to those first days brings back wonderful memories, and knowing they still resonate with you after all this time is incredibly touching.

Everyone begins with a dream and a little bit of hope, right? It’s important to aim high! I wish you all the best as you pursue your goals.

‘Thank you for your kindness and for remembering that moment so fondly. With love, Susan.’

She later confirmed she’d gotten her Marty Supreme jacket, telling the BBC, “Thank you so much for your kind words again, Timothée.”

Wishing you all the best with the film! I’m excited to see it on Boxing Day, and thank you so much for the jacket – it fits perfectly!

Wow, it feels like yesterday! It’s hard to believe it’s been 16 years since Susan Boyle absolutely blew everyone away on Britain’s Got Talent. She came in second to the incredible dance group Diversity, and honestly, that performance launched her into global stardom. It was a truly iconic moment, and she’s been a beloved performer ever since.

That same year, she released her first album, also titled “I Dreamed a Dream” – after her hit song – and it went on to become the best-selling album worldwide in 2009.

She’s made history in the UK by releasing three albums that all reached the top of the charts in under two years. So far, she’s sold an impressive 25 million records worldwide.

Susan is currently preparing for her return to the limelight after six years away from music.

She announced in May that she’s creating new music, posting a photo from what she called a ‘wonderful’ and ’emotional’ day spent recording in the studio.

This comeback is especially meaningful after a difficult period of health challenges, including a stroke in 2022 that affected her ability to speak and sing.

After experiencing a stroke, she was at higher risk for another one, so her team carefully planned how quickly she resumed public appearances.

Susan has diabetes, and because of this, doctors told her she was at a higher risk of getting coronavirus during the pandemic.
