Timothée Chalamet and his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, were spotted close together at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party, seemingly supporting each other after Chalamet didn’t win the award he was nominated for earlier in the evening.
At 30 years old, he was considered a frontrunner for Best Actor for his role in “Marty Supreme,” a film by Josh Safdie. The movie is based on the true story of a ping-pong player in 1950s New York.
Despite his initial popularity, his arrogant behavior in interviews began to turn the public against him. The Daily Mail reported that a campaign to prevent him from winning an award was gaining momentum as the Academy Awards approached.
Timothée Chalamet, coming from a family with a background in ballet – his mother and sister both trained in it – made things worse by saying that opera and ballet aren’t things people are interested in.
The Oscars were a tough night for Timothée Chalamet. He faced a lot of public ridicule for a previous comment, and ultimately lost the Best Actor award to Michael B. Jordan, who won for his performance in ‘Sinners’.
He seemed much happier and more relaxed with his girlfriend at the fancy afterparty, and they were seen embracing and sharing a kiss.
I’ve been following Timothée Chalamet for a while now, and it was so lovely to see him with Kylie Jenner at the awards show. They’ve been together for three years, and he clearly adores her – he even gave her a sweet shout-out when accepting his Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice Awards! She looked absolutely stunning, a true Hollywood star right there with him.
She wore a very tight black dress that showed off her figure, and it looked stunning.
The long gown, with a high slit revealing her toned stomach, shimmered in the lights at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, which hosted this year’s event.
Timothée Chalamet wore the same white suit he’d worn to the Oscars, and people on social media made fun of his choice.
Once the formal ceremony ended, Timothée Chalamet loosened up for the afterparty by removing his tie, unbuttoning his shirt, and letting it hang loose.
Timothée Chalamet clearly showed his disappointment when Adrien Brody announced Jordan as the winner of the 2025 Best Actor award, rather than him.
He gave Jordan a polite clap and seemed to quietly cheer ‘yay’ as the surprised player went to embrace his mother, Donna, before walking onto the stage.
The competition for Best Actor was particularly strong this year, featuring impressive performances from Leonardo DiCaprio in “One Battle After Another,” Ethan Hawke in “Blue Moon,” and Wagner Moura in “The Secret Agent.”

Jordan, a first-time Oscar winner, became emotional during his acceptance speech, expressing his gratitude to both the audience and viewers at home for their support throughout his career. He simply stated, “I feel it.”
I appreciate all your support and I’m determined to succeed, especially knowing you’re all counting on me. Thank you for continuing to believe in me.
Jordan stated that he will continue to improve and strive to be his best self. The film ‘Sinners,’ directed by Ryan Coogler, also received the award for Best Screenplay.
Timothée Chalamet initially led the race for Best Actor, winning at both the Golden Globes and Critics’ Choice Awards for his role in Marty Supreme. However, Michael Jordan’s win at the Actor Awards (previously known as the SAG Awards) earlier this month has changed the dynamic.
The Oscars took place shortly after Timothée Chalamet made remarks that many found offensive – he suggested people weren’t interested in opera or ballet. This caused significant criticism, even from prominent figures like director Steven Spielberg, and added to the already existing drama.
Timothée Chalamet made a candid comment while discussing his wish for the survival of movie theaters with his Interstellar co-star, Matthew McConaughey.
In a conversation with Variety’s Actors on Actors, he explained he wasn’t interested in careers like ballet or opera—jobs where the focus is simply on maintaining something that’s lost its relevance or public interest.
Conan O’Brien hosted the Academy Awards for the second year in a row and began his opening remarks by jokingly referencing the recent controversy surrounding Timothée Chalamet.
Wearing a tuxedo, O’Brien told the audience at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre, ‘Just a quick note: security is very tight tonight.’
He joked that he’d heard people were worried about potential criticism from both opera and ballet fans.

The camera immediately showed Timothée Chalamet, who was smiling nervously as he stood next to his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner.
‘They’re just mad you left out jazz,’ O’Brien jokingly added.
Later that night, O’Brien attempted to smooth things over with Chalamet, telling the audience they were getting along well, or ‘vibing.’ However, his efforts didn’t seem to repair the situation.
“We’re getting along, aren’t we?” he asked Timothée Chalamet, but the microphones didn’t catch Chalamet’s response. Someone then said, “He disagrees.”
I noticed the chatter about Timothée Chalamet started almost immediately when he walked the red carpet. He had a really serious look on his face, and it definitely caught people’s attention, especially since he didn’t have Kendall Jenner with him. It felt like everyone was already talking about it before the show even began!
Oh my god, did you SEE Timothée? He was working the cameras, and the outfit! A pristine white suit and tie – seriously, angelic. But then… the sunglasses. Huge, black, completely unexpected. The contrast was just… everything. It was such a mood, honestly. I can’t stop thinking about it!
People on X, previously known as Twitter, strongly criticized the outfits, with one user complaining that the look was so bad the actor didn’t deserve an Oscar nomination.
Honestly, I was shocked by Timmy’s outfit too! Someone asked, ‘What was Timmy thinking?’ and it was so funny because another person joked he looked like a milkman! It was a truly… unique look, let’s just say that.
Someone called the outfit a ‘disaster,’ and another joked that he could use some style advice from the Kardashians and Jenners, likely referencing his relationship with Kendall Jenner.
