Timothée Chalamet, known for his appreciation of British culture, recently surprised fans by admitting he has a soft spot for the town of Grimsby.
Timothée Chalamet seems to have fallen for the charming, low-key port town of Lincolnshire. He shared his love for British culture with Scott Mills on BBC Radio 2, and the town came up as a particular favorite.
While in London promoting his latest movie, Marty Supreme, the 29-year-old American actor shared that he’d become enamored with the charming small towns he discovered while exploring the Cotswolds in England.
He said: ‘You drive through the British countryside, it’s amazing. The air is so fresh here.
I genuinely find it relaxing to fall asleep watching videos of cozy homes in the Cotswolds, or even just peaceful 4K walks. It’s seriously my go-to for winding down.
It evokes a cozy feeling – charming small towns, rainy days perfect for wearing boots, and the delicious aroma of a Sunday roast. It all just sounds incredibly inviting.

He was over three hours away from the Cotswolds – a beautiful, 787-square-mile area in southwest England – when he conceded that the local towns had charming names, such as Chipping Norton.
Chalamet jokingly mentioned ‘Grimsby,’ which confused the DJ, his audience, and people online, before he clarified that he’d actually never been to the town in Lincolnshire.
After watching the interview, a confused Instagram user commented: ‘Someone needs to let him know Grimsby and the Cotswolds are very different places.’
A second joked: ‘As someone born in Grimsby, let me tell you it’s just like the Cotswolds.’
While a third quipped: ‘If he goes to Grimsby, he’ll be in for shock.’
This mistake happened just over a day after Chalamet also surprisingly shared his fondness for Susan Boyle, who first became known on Britain’s Got Talent.
‘She dreamt big. She dreamt bigger than all of us,’ he told BBC News.
That story really resonated with everyone, didn’t it? I still remember hearing it as if it just happened. It felt like a turning point, similar to when YouTube first became popular.

The actor, who has been nominated for an Oscar twice, stars as Marty Mauser in a new movie inspired by the life of table tennis great Marty Reisman, a champion in the 1940s.
Timothée Chalamet told Jimmy Fallon that he’s been practicing the sport for almost ten years.
He explained that it took around six or seven years to prepare for the film. He first discussed the project with director Josh Safdie back in 2018.
It wasn’t constant, but there was a lot of training involved, especially since it began during the COVID-19 pandemic. And honestly, ping pong was a really good outlet.
He explained that he starts each day with a feeling of gratitude, recognizing how fortunate he is to have the chance to work. This mindset motivates him to give his absolute best effort every single day.
