In September, I’ll be making my way over to the Eye Filmmuseum for the special event called “Tilda Swinton – Ongoing“, a retrospective exhibit that delves into Tilda Swinton’s career and collaborations. It’s all curated by none other than the multi-talented actress herself!

In a recent interview, Tilda Swinton shared her thoughts: “This exceptional invitation has allowed me to ponder over the inner workings of my professional journey spanning four decades. I’ve found myself drawn back to the unchanging foundation and source of strength – the profound friendships I formed right from the beginning and still lean on today.

At this exhibition, you’ll witness eight unique collaborations between the artist and some of her esteemed creative partners from the realms of film, art, and fashion. These include filmmakers such as Luca Guadagnino, Joanna Hogg, Pedro Almodóvar, Jim Jarmusch, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, and an unseen 8mm piece by the late Derek Jarman. The event’s musical ambiance is accentuated by photographer Tim Walker, who documents the artist’s personal and artistic journey, while Olivier Saillard, a fashion historian and curator, will construct a performance and installation celebrating Swinton’s iconic style in clothing.

Day by day, I’m following a continuous path, much like a trail of breadcrumbs through the forest, and each step reveals fresh leaves on trees that have stood tall for years. It feels as if I’ve been given a priceless seedbed, nurturing friendships and experiences that grow richer with every passing day. Indeed, I consider myself incredibly fortunate to be part of such an enchanting journey.
