Makeup influencer Mikayla Nogueira has announced she is divorcing her husband, Cody Hawken, after two years of marriage, following months of rumors about their relationship.
On Thursday, February 12th, Nogueira, 27, shared sad news with her 17.4 million TikTok followers in a personal video.
The couple, who live in Massachusetts, got married in a grand ceremony last July, after dating for under two years.
Their marriage faced challenges as a result of Hawken’s struggles with drug and alcohol addiction.
He relapsed in 2024 after being sober for years and entered rehab in March 2025.
Nogueira announced her divorce, explaining that she and Hawken had separated several months ago. She described the split as friendly and stated they still care for each other.
Nogueira refused to share the reason for the split in order to ‘protect’ her now-estranged husband.
‘The only people that know why Cody and I made this decision is Cody and I,’ she told fans.
Nogueira started her video with a captivating introduction, telling viewers to get ready for a major announcement before sharing her news.
‘I am getting a divorce. Take a minute, take it in,’ she said.Â
After a short moment, Nogueira went on to say that he and Cody have a very strong love for each other and would do anything to support one another.
I won’t be sharing the reasons behind Cody and my decision. My priority is protecting Cody, and that’s why I’m keeping the details private.
‘Cody deserves that. We both want to heal. Cody deserves to be happy. So do I.’
Nogueira described her and Hawken’s breakup as incredibly messy, and emphasized that people don’t get married expecting to divorce.
She described their current relationship as very friendly, explaining that they speak daily, he often joins them for dinner, and he still gets to see the dogs.
Oh, Cody⊠we had five incredible years together, and two of those were as husband and wife. Honestly, those years were some of the happiest of my life, and Iâll hold onto those memories forever. I think about them constantly, and they still make me smile. They truly were the best times.
Nogueira said that neither her or Cody ‘regret’ getting married.Â
She anticipated a lot of online discussion and guessing about her divorce and began preparing for it.
Only Cody and I understand the reasons behind our decision, and I want to emphasize that it’s just the two of us who do.
She also asked her followers to ‘leave’ Hawken’s addiction issues ‘out of the conversation.’
These are distinct challenges. Simply dealing with addiction and maintaining sobriety is difficult enough on its own.
Nogueira shared that she and Hawken decided to divorce last year, but they chose to keep the separation private until now.
She explained that sheâs been working through this for several months, and itâs involved a lot of emotional processing â including crying and talking extensively with her family, friends, and a therapist.
After doing all of that, Nogueira finally got ‘to a place where [she] can make this video.’Â
As for what happens now, the social media star said she is focused on healing.Â
I wanted to express my gratitude for all the support youâve given Cody and me over the past five years.
‘You guys rooted for my relationship and my marriage so hard and I appreciate it so much.
She confessed that she and Hawken are both scared but excited to start this new phase of their lives, and they’re fully committed to making it work.
She admitted it was scary, but also thrilling. ‘Things don’t always go as planned,’ she explained, ‘and Cody and I have come to terms with that.’
Nogueira says she’s embracing this new and surprising phase of her life by continuing to create content for her fans, even planning Valentine’s Day videos despite recently going through a breakup.
Things are continuing as usual with my work â I’ll still be making beauty videos and posts. I just wanted to let you know Iâm still around and available.
Nogueira ended the almost five-minute video by thanking her fans for their ongoing support.
‘Please don’t tear Cody and I apart because that’s not what we want.’
Nogueira gained popularity on TikTok during the pandemic by creating beauty videos that many people could relate to, like reviews of skincare and makeup products.
With over 17.4 million TikTok followers and 3.5 million on Instagram, sheâs partnered with major beauty brands like EstĂ©e Lauder and e.l.f. Cosmetics in profitable deals.
According to Forbes, she has a net worth of nearly $8 million.
Last summer, Nogueira purchased a large 9,300 square foot mansion in Massachusetts for $4.35 million, according to Realtor.com.
Hawken bought a house only a few months after finishing rehab, which Nogueira shared on TikTok in April.
She told her many followers that her husband, Cody, was receiving treatment in rehab and she felt ready to share the news. She also explained that Cody had given her permission to discuss it publicly.
She shared that Hawken experienced a return to drug use in January 2024, ending a long period of recovery. He also started drinking alcohol again at some point afterward.
Oh my god, 2024 was terrifying. Seriously, the worst. There were nights I was genuinely afraid for my husbandâs life, I actually had to call the police! It was so scary, I was convinced something awful was going to happen to him.
Nogueira made the tough choice to ask Cody to move out, and he subsequently found a new place to live.
Hawken faced a severe low point, as Nogueira put it, and entered a rehabilitation program in March 2025 to receive treatment and work towards getting sober.
Following the first announcement about her husband entering rehab, Nogueira kept fans updated on how he was doing.
He ended up completing a 45-day stint and was ‘three months sober’ by June.
Nogueira shared with fans that she and Hawken were going to marriage counseling to deal with a ‘very traumatic and stressful time.’ She clarified they weren’t planning to divorce, but simply wanted to get support and ‘help’ to work through their issues.
However, Hawken unexpectedly stopped appearing in the game’s content near the end of 2025, leading to widespread rumors that the game had been quietly cancelled.
Nogueira and Hawken got engaged just months into their romance in 2021 amid her rising fame.
They married in Rhode Island less than two years later in July 2023.
Hawken often appeared on Nogueiraâs social media, and Nogueira frequently shared details about their relationship with her followers.
