TikTok star John Crawley dead at 47 days after being rushed to ICU

TikTok star John Crawley has died at the age of 47.

It has been reported by TMZ that Crawley, widely recognized as KingBeardX and Pimpmunkx on various social media platforms due to his side-splitting responses to individuals consuming food, tragically passed away on Monday after suffering a heart attack.

James Steele, the funeral director from Glenfield Funeral Home in New Albany, Mississippi, indicated that Crawley had stayed in the hospital for a minimum of two weeks.

Anthony Caruso, who used to host a podcast with Crawley and is now his friend, set up a GoFundMe page for the star, following his hospitalization at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo due to respiratory problems.

After the comedian required a ventilator due to stopping breath, medical professionals transferred him to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Before he passed away, they inserted a tube into his chest in the ICU.

Crawley had amassed over 2.5 million followers on TikTok and 996K followers on Instagram.

A group of friends organized a GoFundMe campaign to assist Crawley’s family financially, as they were struggling without medical insurance and relied on him as their main source of income. According to the fundraising page, the funds collected will be used to pay for Crawley’s funeral costs and provide support for his family during this difficult time.

‘Knowing him personally, John was a good guy. He lit up a lot of people’s worlds,’ Steele told TMZ.

I’ve recently departed from his home, where I spent time with his mom. We shared a moment of prayer. At the moment, she’s quite distressed, yet I believe she will pull through.

On the 4th of August, a relative shared an update about my health situation on the GoFundMe page. They wrote that I had been admitted to the hospital due to difficulties with my breathing. Doctors intervened by placing me on a ventilator, but unfortunately, my oxygen levels dropped below 66%. Consequently, I stopped breathing. The medical team responded swiftly by moving me to the ICU and raising my oxygen levels back to 100%. Now, they’ve inserted a tube in my chest, and although my breathing condition remains critical, I am receiving the best possible care.

However on Tuesday Caruso updated the page with the news of Crawley’s passing.

He expressed regret to share unfortunate news, stating that KingBeardx (Pimpmunkx) had passed away the previous day.

A big thank you goes out to everyone who has contributed to the fundraiser thus far. I’ve been asked by his mother to extend my gratitude to each and every one of you.

‘The fundraiser will continue to go on to support fundraising a funeral/helping John’s mother.’

The fundraiser has currently raised $2,228 of its $9,000 goal.

Crawley last posted on TikTok on July 22.

Following the news of his passing, tributes began pouring in for the social media star.

Farewell, Mr. John Crawley. Your absence will undoubtedly be felt. Many thanks for the endless joy and amusement you provided.

Upon receiving the news, I find myself reminiscing about the good old days of DP and The Wood. It is with a heavy heart that I pay my respects to the legendary figure, Pimpmunkx/Kingbeardx, who has left an indelible mark in those times. Rest In Peace.

‘Rest in peace King,’ another added.

‘Many others, including his family, friends, and those who interacted with him online, also have my heartfelt sympathies.’ or ‘Apart from his immediate family and friends, I extend my condolences to everyone he impacted through social media.’
