Thunderbolts Will Shock Fans with Two Epic Post-Credits Scenes Revealing MCU’s Future!
For the first time since Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, a Marvel Cinematic Universe film is going to feature multiple scenes after the credits roll.
In the upcoming film, Thunderbolts*, there will be not just one but two bonus scenes following the credits. Unlike the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s initial films (Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor, and Captain America: The First Avenger) which only had a single post-credits scene, Marvel’s The Avengers* from 2012 started the trend of double the fun with one scene appearing mid-credits and another at the very end. This practice became quite common for Marvel Studios during Phases 2 and 3, with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 even featuring a grand total of five.
Instead of having multiple post-credits teasers after the release of “Avengers: Endgame”, these scenes suggesting upcoming sequels or projects in the Marvel Cinematic Universe have become less frequent, with only one post-credits scene appearing in the last three movies. A similar trend can be observed in Marvel Studios’ content on Disney+, where most recent shows offer at most a single post-credits scene throughout their entire run. This is quite different from earlier productions like “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law”, which included post-credits scenes in five out of nine episodes.
Captain America: Brave New World’s Post-Credits Scene Teased Doomsday
Although the post-credit scenes for the upcoming film Thunderbolts haven’t been revealed yet, they are expected to hint at the Thunderbolts’ role in the forthcoming epic saga, Avengers: Doomsday. In the last Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, 2025’s Captain America: Brave New World, we learn about a looming danger from other dimensions. Given that Anthony Mackie’s Captain America will be intertwined with the Thunderbolts in Doomsday, along with the Fantastic Four, X-Men, and other Avengers, it seems logical for the upcoming superhero flick to establish some foundations for the eagerly awaited crossover event.
In “Thunderbolts”, we can expect an exciting assembly of antiheroes drawn from different parts of the Marvel Cinatic Universe (MCU). These include Yelena Belova portrayed by Florence Pugh, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Olga Kurylenko’s character, Taskmaster, from “Black Widow”, Wyatt Russell’s John Walker from “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier”, Hannah John-Kamen’s Ava Starr/Ghost from “Ant-Man and the Wasp”, and Bucky Barnes.
The essential storyline of the movie “Thunderbolts” remains shrouded in secrecy, but a brief summary suggests that this motley crew will unwittingly fall into a deadly trap devised by Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ character Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. This disparate band of misfits must undertake a perilous journey, which may compel them to delve into the most troubling recesses of their histories. The trailers for “Thunderbolts” further indicate that Lewis Pullman’s character, Sentry/The Void, will serve as the primary villain, as suggested by director Jake Schreier.
Thunderbolts* hits theaters on May 2.
