Throwback ITV period drama with Damian Lewis will be removed from Netflix soon

In a few weeks, Netflix will no longer have The Forsyte Saga, the early 2000s TV series based on John Galsworthy’s novels. The show features Damian Lewis (known from Homeland), Gina McKee (Line of Duty), Rupert Graves (Sherlock), Ioan Gruffudd (Bad Boys: Ride or Die), and Ben Miles (Andor).

The show originally aired on ITV in 2002 and 2003. It became available on Netflix UK last June, and will probably be taken off the service around the same time this year. However, if you haven’t finished all ten episodes by then, don’t worry – there’s still a way to watch!

The show is also available in full on ITVX, which is free with ads on its base tier.

This series follows the fortunes of the Forsyte family over three generations, from the 1870s to the 1920s. It stars Damian Lewis as Soames Forsyte, a proud man who sees his wife, Irene, as a beautiful object rather than an equal partner.

Recently, the book series was turned into a TV show called The Forsytes on Channel 5. It features Millie Gibson, known from Doctor Who, and Joshua Orpin, who starred in Home and Away.

What to Read Next

The show’s first season came out last October, and season 2 was already finished filming at that time. So, we can anticipate new episodes arriving later this year.

A third season has already been confirmed, taking it ahead of the 2000s version.

Lewis has officially joined the cast of the upcoming thriller, The Return of Stanley Atwell, and will star alongside Nicholas Galitzine, known for his work in Masters of the Universe.

The movie centers around a man who escapes from prison after a decade and discovers that, since everyone thought he was dead, his wealth is about to be claimed by someone else. He’s determined to get it back, and he’ll do whatever it takes.

The Forsyte Saga is available on Netflix for a limited time, and also on ITVX.
