Prime Video has given fans a first glimpse of its new Sherlock Holmes series. Called Young Sherlock, the show stars Hero Fiennes Tiffin as the iconic detective and will explore his beginnings, telling the story of his early life and cases.
Guy Ritchie is directing and executive producing a new mystery series packed with action, coming to Prime Video in 2026.

The new series, Young Sherlock, aims to capture the same clever and stylish feel as Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes movies. It features a strong cast, including Dónal Finn (known from The Wheel of Time), Zine Tseng (3 Body Problem), and Joseph Fiennes (The Handmaid’s Tale).
The cast also includes Natascha McElhone (known for Halo), Max Irons (Condor), and Colin Firth, famous from Love Actually. Firth will be playing the role of Sir Bucephalus Hodge.
I just saw the first images from the new project, and I’m so excited! We finally get to see Fiennes Tiffin and Finn as their characters, and it looks like they’re going to be involved in all sorts of things – there’s even a scene that looks like a gunfight! I can’t wait to see what happens.
So, I’m a huge Sherlock Holmes fan, and I was really excited about the possibility of a third movie with Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law. But unfortunately, it sounds like things aren’t looking great! Jared Harris recently told The Direct that he honestly has no idea if it’s actually going to happen, which is a bit of a bummer.
Honestly, I’m completely in the dark – nobody from the studio has said a word to me about it. And it’s driving me crazy, people keep asking me! I really have no idea what’s going on, seriously. Nobody’s filled me in on anything.
Young Sherlock is slated for release on Prime Video in 2026.
