The popular drama After the Flood returns tonight at 9pm on ITV1 after a two-year break. The second episode will air on Monday at the same time, and both episodes will also be available to stream on ITVX.

Season two begins with a strange discovery: a body is found in Waterside, a town already on edge due to the danger of wildfires and the potential for more flooding.

As Jo tries to catch the killer, she clashes with some of the town’s most powerful people, and the case quickly becomes very personal for her.

This means she’ll have to work undercover to expose the decades-long corruption within the town’s police force, including potential involvement within her own family.

The series stars Nicola Rundle and Ashbourne, alongside Jonas Armstong, Faye McKeever, and Philip Glenister. Jill Halfpenny will join the cast for the second season.

When After the Flood came out in 2024, most viewers liked it. Currently, it has an average rating of 6.5 out of 10 on IMDb, based on over 4,600 reviews. One viewer commented that the show improved with each episode.
