Three members of gospel group The Nelons killed in tragic plane crash

As a devoted fan of The Nelons, I am absolutely devastated by the heartbreaking news of the tragic plane crash that took the lives of three precious members of this beloved gospel group: Kelly and Jason Nelon Clark, along with their daughter Amber Kistler. My heart is heavy with sorrow as I also mourn for Nathan Kistler, Melodi Hodges, Larry Haynie, and his wife Melissa, who were also on the plane and did not survive.

Three members of gospel group The Nelons have been killed in tragic plane crash.

Kelly Nelon Clark is joined by her husband, Jason Clark, as well as her two daughters – Amber Nelon Kistler and Autumn Nelon Streetman – in making up this particular group.

A tragic accident took the lives of Kelly, Jason, and Amber, along with Amber’s spouse Nathan Kistler and three other friends.

While en route to the Gaither Homecoming Cruise, the plane unfortunately crashed in a secluded part of northeastern Wyoming. Regrettably, there were no survivors.

Autumn, who wasn’t on the plane released a statement on Saturday to announce the sad news.

I was deeply saddened to learn about the tragic plane crash that took place last Friday, claiming the lives of my dear family members and friends. The Nelon Clark family, including my father and mother Jason and Kelly, my sister Amber, and her husband Nathan, were all on board. Also among the victims were Melodi Hodges, Larry, and Melissa Haynie, who had been our cherished companions through thick and thin.

We’re grateful for the prayers that have been offered to us: me, my husband Jamie, and our upcoming son. The same goes for Jason’s parents, Dan and Linda Clark. Your ongoing prayers, kindness, and encouragement will be invaluable as we face the days ahead.

I was deeply saddened to learn about the tragic plane crash that took the lives of The Nelons, one of America’s most beloved Gospel music families. Having grown up listening to their soulful melodies and heartfelt harmonies, it is hard to comprehend that such a talented and vibrant group is no more. Their music has brought joy and comfort to countless people, including myself, throughout the years. It is a cruel reminder of the fragility of life and the unexpected twists and turns it can take. My heart goes out to their family, friends, and fans during this difficult time. May they find peace and strength in the memories and legacy that The Nelons have left behind.

In the tragic plane crash, Jason and Kelly Nelon Clark, Amber and Nathan Kistler, and their assistant Melodi Hodges lost their lives, along with the pilot, Larry Haynie, and his wife, Melissa. The National Transportation Safety Board is currently conducting an investigation into the accident’s cause.

I was anxiously waiting for news about Autumn and Jamie, the beloved younger couple of the Jason and Kelly family. Thankfully, they hadn’t been on that fateful plane and had safely touched down in Seattle instead. The relief flooded through me as I received the notification of their safety.

At the hotel, artists came together with Bill and Gloria Gaither for a heartfelt gathering. They prayed, sang, and offered comforting embraces to those in mourning. The artists vowed to stand by them, providing assistance whenever needed.

Autumn and Jamie are heading back home temporarily to be with their relatives, Todd and Rhonda Nelon. They have important tasks to attend to, so your support and prayers for the Kistler, Haynie, and Hodges families during this time would be greatly appreciated.

Approximately at 1 PM on Friday, July 26, a crash occurred north of Gillett, according to the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office report.

Fatalities are yet to be confirmed.
