The Korean fashion brand, thisisneverthat, recently debuted its initial partnership with Disney, showcasing a line inspired by the iconic Mickey Mouse character first presented in 1928.
The collaborator presents a collection inspired by nostalgia, mimicking an old-fashioned catalog, with images featuring a grainy texture and deliberate scratches. At the heart of this Disney merchandise is a vintage Mickey Mouse illustration, while modern versions contrast the brand’s logo with an image of Mickey in mid-jump. Some t-shirts creatively incorporate the Mickey icon into a Warhol-esque design and others display Mickey stitched onto the chest. For more casual wear, thisisneverthat offers a vibrant pair of printed shorts and a set of sweats adorned with multiple Mickeys.
In other locations, thisisneverthat presents a selection of subtle choices such as a pair of brown corduroy trousers that exhibit a hidden Mickey pattern inside, along with a black zip-up jacket adorned with just a few tiny Mickey embellishments. The assortment is rounded out with various accessories like embroidered bags, retro baseball hats, jacquard socks, and embroidered bucket hats. Lastly, the collection concludes with charming collectibles including a revamped Mickey plush toy and an enamel keychain to add a personal touch.
Disney will be available online in the United States on March 13 at 6 PM Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) or 9 PM Eastern Daylight Time (EDT), while it will debut on March 14 at 10 AM Korean Standard Time (KST), 12 PM Japan Standard Time (JST), 2 AM Central European Time (CET), and 10 AM China Standard Time (CST).
