This year’s most-anticipated horror Backrooms hailed as “perfect” as new trailer lands

A24 just dropped a new trailer for their upcoming horror movie, Backrooms. The film is based on the creepy idea of a place that exists outside of our world – an infinite maze of empty, strangely damp-smelling rooms.

The first glimpse was brief, but the full trailer showcases Chiwetel Ejiofor and the rest of the cast as the main character, Clark, stumbles upon a bizarre new dimension and becomes consumed with understanding it.

The film also includes scenes presented as “found footage,” reminiscent of the original viral short films created by director Kane Parsons, who also directed this feature-length movie.

As a huge fan, I’m seriously excited about this new trailer! It perfectly captures that nostalgic, unsettling feeling you get from the backrooms – those endless, empty spaces just get under your skin. Everyone seems to be buzzing about finally getting to explore that maze of identical rooms, and honestly, me too!

Wow, I’m seriously hyped after watching this trailer! One person on YouTube put it perfectly – it looks absolutely perfect. And honestly, it’s been a decade since I last went to the cinema for a new release, but I’m definitely making an exception for this one!

At only 20 years old, Parsons is a remarkably young director for a big Hollywood film, and he’s working from a script written by Will Soodik. The movie stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, along with Renate Reinsve and Mark Duplass.

Backrooms is scheduled to be released in cinemas on 29 May.
