This Week in Star Wars Comics: Tensions rise at the Battle of Jakku

As a long-time Star Wars enthusiast and former comic book store owner, I can confidently say that this week’s comics have been nothing short of exhilarating! The Battle of Jakku – Insurgency Rising #2 has truly taken the Galactic Civil War to new heights.

We’ve now hit mid-October, and following the flurry of Star Wars comics last week, this one might feel less action-packed. But don’t let that fool you, as we carry on with our ongoing comic book series! The Battle of Jakku is intensifying, and tough decisions are looming!

Let’s dive into all this an more This Week in Star Wars Comics!

The Battle of Jakku — Insurgency Rising #2

Despite the death of Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader at the Battle of Endor, a dangerous Grand Moff, Ubrik Adelhard, continues on the Galactic Civil War against the fledgling New Republic. This Moff is making dangerous deals, including with the mysterious group, The Acolytes of the Beyond. Leia Organa and Mon Mothma struggle in the fight, debating if they should be making shady deals of their own to get to total victory.

As a die-hard Star Wars gamer, I’m super excited about the latest installment of “Star Wars: The Battle of Jakku — Insurgency Rising #2”. Penned by the talented Alex Segura, this comic also boasts stunning illustrations by Leonard Kirk and an eye-catching cover by Phil Noto. With a few sneak peeks from this week’s issue, my Star Wars Resistance-obsessed heart can hardly contain its joy! Additionally, a beloved character from one of my favorite books is making a comeback, stealing the spotlight in the preview pages. Beware of spoilers for this one!

Next week will be unusual, friends, as there won’t be any new Star Wars comics coming out. This is an infrequent occurrence, particularly during holiday seasons when there might be breaks. As someone who has been penning these articles for a while and previously managed a comic book store for over five years, it feels odd not to have content scheduled for next week.

In any case, keep an eye out as we work things out and return with a fresh installment of This Week in Star Wars Comics every week!
