This Week in Star Wars Comics: Peril on Chandrila!

As a seasoned Star Wars gamer with years of galactic battles under my belt, I can’t help but feel a thrill running down my cybernetic limbs as we delve into December’s offerings. The Battle of Jakku – Republic Under Siege #3 is just the latest addition to my collection, and it doesn’t disappoint!

This week, as we welcome December, we’re diving back into the world of Star Wars with fresh comic installments! We move forward with our ongoing maxiseries, and there’s a timely release of a new trade paperback perfect for holiday reading!

This Week in Star Wars Comics, it’s The Battle of Jakku — Republic Under Siege #3!

In the ongoing struggle, the ruthless Imperial warlord Ubrik Adelhard persists in his fight against the growing New Republic. Lando Calrissian courageously confronts these remaining forces, yet it seems the heroes may have run out of time. Casualties rise dramatically following an assassination on Chandrila, causing a significant loss for the good guys. It remains unclear if there is someone hunting Adelhard; they could potentially be an ally or an adversary.

Title “Battle at Jakku – Republic on the Defensive #3” penned by Alex Segura, featuring illustrations by Stefano Raffaele and Alex Sinclair, with Taurin Clarke as the cover artist.

A new trade paperback titled “Star Wars Vol. 9: The Path of Light” is out this week. This compilation features the concluding issues from Charles Soule’s 2020 Star Wars series, including the highly anticipated issue #50. In the final installment, an older Luke Skywalker imparts wisdom to his nephew Ben Solo. The story revolves around a moral dilemma: whether or not to use the powerful weapon called the Grim Rose, which could eliminate Emperor Palpatine but would also result in the deaths of thousands. You’ll need to read it to discover if the potential loss justifies ending the war.

That’s it for This Week in Star Wars Comics! I do want to note that while it’s not a comic if you have a young one and looking for something to read, the picture book Someone Who Loves You by Beth Revis and Sophie Li also came out this week. It’s an adorable retelling of Leia Organa and Han Solo’s wedding! It’s definitely one to check out!

See you next time in the Splash Pages!
