This week in Star Wars Comics: Leia Organa's dire choice for Rebellion

As a seasoned gamer and long-time Star Wars enthusiast, let me tell you, this week’s Star Wars comics lineup is nothing short of galactic goodness! With Leia Organa navigating her own personal battles while keeping the Rebellion alive, it feels like I’m living through the events alongside her. The High Republic Adventures never fail to impress with their intricate plotlines and diverse cast of characters, making me feel like a part of this expansive galaxy.

Today is Wednesday again, so let’s dive right into this week’s Star Wars Comics update! We’re building towards a grand climax, catching up on our beloved recently knighted Jedi from the High Republic, and finding out what new trade paperbacks have hit the shelves this week.

Let’s get into it!

Star Wars #49

Being a beacon of hope for a rebellion continually takes its toll. In last month’s edition of Star Wars, we delved deeply into Leia Organa’s burden of survivor guilt and the weight she carries. Alongside Luke Skywalker, she sought out a group of Alderaan survivors who hadn’t responded, but instead found themselves walking into a trap! The 49th issue of Star Wars, penned by Charles Soule and illustrated by Jethro Morales, places Leia in a predicament where she must make yet another difficult choice between her people and the Rebel Alliance. Stephen Segovia was responsible for the cover art.

The High Republic Adventures #9

Stranded among hostile forces, Lula, Zeen, their Jedi comrades Farzala and Qort seek aid before the Nihil’s impending invasion of Eriadu commences. With time running short, they reach out to their ‘found families’, such as the Tarkins, in an attempt to rally the people of this world for support, before it’s all too late. The ninth issue of “The High Republic Adventures” is penned by Daniel José Older and boasts artwork from Toni Bruno, with cover art by Harvey Tolibao.

Star Wars: Mace Windu – The Twilight Run

As a long-time Star Wars fan with a deep appreciation for the rich tapestry of stories woven into the universe, I am thrilled to announce that this week brings us a new addition to the collection: “Star Wars: Mace Windu—The Twilight Run.” This trade paperback is more than just another installment in the saga; it’s a journey back to a time when Mace Windu was still a Jedi Knight, grappling with the complexities of his role and the challenges that lay ahead.

Wrapping up this week’s installment of ‘This Week in Star Wars Comics‘, we move on to conclude the month of August. Until next time, see you among the comic panels!
