This Week in Star Wars Comics: Insurgency Rising and a LOT of Legends

As a lifelong Star Wars enthusiast who’s been following these comics since the days of Black Fleet Crisis and the Thrawn Trilogy, I must say this week has truly struck a chord with me. The Battle of Jakku maxiseries has been an exciting ride, and Insurgency Rising #4 promises to deliver a thrilling conclusion that’s sure to keep fans on the edge of their seats!

In November, trade paperbacks seem to be taking center stage, significantly outweighing single issues this week. We’re delving into the realm of Star Wars Legends, which is exciting because long-time fans of the Extended Universe have a chance to acquire new editions, and fresh enthusiasts can encounter these stories for the first time.

This Week in Star Wars Comics, it’s Insurgency Rising, Ahsoka, and Legends trades!

As the initial episode of the Battle of Jakku maxiseries reaches its conclusion (don’t fret! Part two, Republic Under Siege, begins on November 20), an enigmatic Inquisitor emerges, confronting Luke Skywalker. The renegade Imperial warlord, Ubrik Adelhard, confronts the budding New Republic and their squad, which is headed by Poe Dameron’s father, Kes. This conflict will reach its climax in this issue!

“Battle of Jakku – Insurgency Rises #4

As a longtime fan of Star Wars and Ahsoka Tano, I must admit that I was initially excited about the latest comic book series, “Ahsoka.” However, after reading issue #5, I find myself struggling to express my thoughts coherently. To put it plainly, it feels like I’m reliving old episodes in a new format with no fresh insights or developments.

This week saw the release of three Star Wars Legends trade paperbacks, all part of The Essential Legends Collection – a series reprinting tales from the Extended Universe. The trio of books includes “The Force Unleashed” by Sean Williams, “The Han Solo Adventures” by Brian Daley, and “X-Wing: Solo Command” by Aaron Allston. Our writer has delved deep into the latter, highlighting why it’s one of the top Han Solo stories; you can read more about it here!

That’s it for This Week in Star Wars Comics! See you next time in the splash pages!
