This Week in Star Wars Comics: Darth Vader teams up with another Sith... Luke Skywalker!?

As a devoted Star Wars comic fan, I’m always thrilled to see new releases hitting the shelves each week. This past week has been particularly exciting with the announcement that the current run of Darth Vader is coming to an end in September and the reveal of some intriguing new titles due out next week.

Back in June, it was revealed that the ongoing “Darth Vader” series would conclude in September. This current comic issue certainly seems to be building towards an exciting finish. Additionally, we’ll examine the upcoming trade paperbacks due out next week.

It’s time for This Week in Star Wars Comics!

Darth Vader #48

As a gamer immersed in the Star Wars universe, I’ve witnessed the Schism Imperial, led by Darth Vader and Sly Moore, make significant progress on their mission to overthrow Emperor Palpatine. Recently, we obtained a colossal kyber crystal from Exegol, which granted Vader a haunting vision of a potential future. In this vision, Luke Skywalker stood by my side as another Sith. Meanwhile, I’ve encountered Luke in a hidden corner of the galaxy, where he was approached by an intriguing figure – Sabe, who used to serve Padme Amidala and has been both friend and foe to me.

Star Wars Legends: Tales of the Jedi Omnibus

Next Tuesday, the first of two scheduled trades and omnibuses includes the hardcover edition of “Star Wars Legends: Tales of the Jedi.” This compilation gathers together all the comics in the Star Wars Legends series, specifically “Dawn of the Jedi” and “Tales of the Jedi.” With approximately 40 issues, it’s a must-have for dedicated Extended Universe fans.

Star Wars Modern Era Epic Collection: Skywalker Strikes

Prior to now, Marvel Comics’ Epic Collection books were exclusively for Legends comics. However, starting Tuesday, we have something new: “Star Wars Modern Era Epic Collection: Skywalker Strikes” will be the first in a series of collections based on current canon. Included in this volume are the initial 14 issues of Jason Aaron’s 2015 “Star Wars” series, as well as additional titles.

That’s it for Star Wars Comics this week! See you next time!
